Tret leans back in his chair, crosses his arms, and closes his eyes "...Sigh. Well... If whatever we're doing with Wisteria works... maybe we'll have a way to pull the parasite out of Ellie... Maybe. Seems unlike him to just give in to his guilt. A shit way to clear his conscious, leaving other people to clean up his mess... Always thought he was more of a fighter. Too early for him to hang it up just yet."

Sura slowly wandered closer after a time, dashing over to the nearest wall and beginning to slide-sneak her way to the kitchen and the ongoing conversation. Once she had safely scooted past Lami, the child made a mad dash for a chocobo doll that sat on one of the kitchen counters, hopping up and trying to grab at it, making soft raspy noises as she made a grab for it.

Blue sighed. "I wish Novine explained it better...just feels like we're kinda hoping this'll work. Dun even know if Wisty would be willing to come with us- what if she's figured out how to separate the...the parasite thing even before we go and meet her? And then we've got nothing."

Lami flinched at the appearance of Sura. Before she broke away. Sighing abit in relief. "Aye… I did tell em I have no intention of givin’ up on em… I owe em ta much. Even if he doesn’t seem ta care much ‘bout that…" she said with a few nods. Keeping a careful eye on Sura.

Looking over at Blue "Least we’d know there is a way… better then a hopeless cause. Then we just gotta find a way to get that information out of her. That’s all."

Slowly, the man rises and wanders over towards the redheaded stepchild. Rather than grab the doll she sought, he would gently lift her by her waist up high enough to grab it herself, then set her back down once she had grabbed the toy "Well, I'm selfish enough to deny him that peace myself. Going to drag him kicking and screaming into my peace. He doesn't get to rest until I do. He's got questions to answer, besides."

Lami nodded. Watching Tret assist Sura she’d nod a few more times. "Aye. That he does. Yet again. He always seems ta leave questions where ya think there’d be answers. But that’s more of a personal observation."

Sura froze briefly as she was lifted, but upon seeing the doll at grabbing level, gleefully swiped the toy from its resting place. She huffed softly as she was set back down before running off to the adjoining room- though not without giving a suspicious glare in Lami's direction.

Blue nodded and hugged herself. "Anything is better than nothing I guess. N' even I'd rather have normal Eligor than this creepy one."

"Yes. Once he has satisfied my curiosity? Maybe I'll let him sleep. But until then, he must answer to me. And his daughters. Mostly them. He's got a lot of unfinished work. and... Well, I'd like to have him around for the next storm. If he's not at the center of it? He'll be quite useful!"

Lami laughed at that."Aye...He is quite useful fer solvin' particular kinds of issues..." 

She'd say with pursed lips."That's sort of what I told em...Novine I know would miss em sumthin' fierce and well...I'd rather not witness sumone else lose their parents...Least if I can help it anyways...But that seemed ta not be a good enough reason fer the man. But I guess I can't say what goes on in that mind of his..."

Looking over at Blue."Aye I prefer that one ta our current Eligor ta be sure. Least I had a general idea of what ta expected from em...This one I dun like whatsoever'

Still keeping a cautious eye on Sura this whole time when she could.

"This Eligor is just hungry like a starving Dreamtoad. Tongue lash here tongue lash there, gobble gobble slurp slurp. Pointier teeth though. Grow big, become they instead of I." She shrugged her shoulders helplessly. "No mystery besides how it wants to do that. N' there's a lot that Tret and I do not know n' can't begin to guess at."

"Still creepy."

He leans against the counter, Watching Sura do her watching "...Should check in on his house some time. Maybe I'll look into that this week. Just make sure everything is alright over there, take his mail in, all that. He'll be confused, but it'll be one less thing to deal with when he returns."

Lami just nodded at Blue."Aye...Control. Is all it wants...Fer what purpose is concernin'." 

She just shrugged."I doubt Mail is the first thin' on his mind...But I suppose he won't disapprove...Ya got permission fer entry?"

Blue simply stared at Tret. "...Why are you taking his mail? I don't think anybody would normally think to take that..definitely more important things going on. Also he's in the Mist. Is a bit of a distance to pick up someone's letters."  She seemed rather amused at the thought however, stifling a giggle before she wandered into the other room to check on Sura.

"Not taking his mail lovely! just bringing it inside! Yeah, I've been in there a few times now. Visiting. the Starlight thing. Learning about Yoake. Seems I'm on the good list, or was last time I went by.... Why is the purpose concerning, Lam?"

Lami shrugged. "Cause, Once it has control. What would it do with it? Why control? Why not raw destruction? Or is that the next step?"

She sighed abit. "Eli told me it gave me the ability ta use magic, Er so he thinks fer sum later stage of it's plans...and now that I'm a bust. Who's ta say it won't find a replacement that's not? Maybe I'm thinkin' ta much..."

"....It's the reason Ellie can use magic, you know. Or so I've been told. It broke a seal keeping him from doing so. Hm. I wonder if removing it will make him... Not magic. But... Does Veldi know you were bitten? That the book kept you from being... Controlled? I told her last time I talked to her that I thought that might be an answer... But I guess putting a piece of the book back in him might be... Bad"

"Aye...It might be. I haven't spoken to Veldi no. She...doesn't talk ta me much as thin's are."

Shrugging abit at that. "But, that does make sense...that Crystal on his forehead? I'd wager that's the one. Could always rip it out but...well I don't think that' would end well either..."

"...Talk to her. I suppose I should probably hold off with the "I told you"s, since there may be more and you're not actually safe...but on the bright side? If you're not, we might have an answer soon. Maybe!"

Lami nodded. "Aye..I will...But if I'm not safe? Da me a favor and put me out me misery, Ya? I'm not a fan of bein' a slave.

Blue returned not long after with Sura in her arms. No longer glaring at Lami, the Miqo'te child instead seemed rather focused on looking through her instead.

The Au ra leaned her back against a nearby column and took over as she glared daggers at Lami's request.

"Not gonna happen. Won't be no forever slaves on my watch, n' killing won't be necessary. I'll just strangle the wiggle wormy grubby thing right out of ya!"

"Same deal as Ellie. You don't get to go just yet, Lam Lam. That'll make Blue sad, and we don't make Blue sad in this house. We've got something highly experimental we'd try first."

Lami just sighed at this. "I should have expected that response...Ya might regret it but hey. I won't tell ya what ta da."

Rolling her shoulders abit with a nervous chuckle feeling Blue's eyes on her she'd just sort of shrug it off. Least for now. Blue was arm'd now afterall.

"I da hope it werks out...Da let me know...I'll try ta get Veldi a chat..."

"Regrets? Bah, I don't believe in them. If you're an issue at some point? Well, I'll have to address you then. I'm certain I can find some good problem solving tools to help you untangle yourself!" Tret beamed at Lami and then Blue and Red in turn, but there was... A slight sinister was in his words...

Blue smirked teasingly at Lami before she nodded. "Will let you know how it goes. If we come back with anything after weeks of not knowing what to do, I'll call it a success."

She briefly looked down and rubbed at her arm with her free hand.

"..Not really looking forward to this though. Bit afraid we'll fall into another deal somehow."

"We made our deal already. We have no need to make a deal anymore outside of 'Come with us. We're not looking to fight. But you might get your unwanted roommate pulled out.' actually... We might not better even say that much... I need to think on how we approach this."

Lami just looked between the two. "Aye…" not really sure what else to say she stood up and stretched out, "Anyroad… that’s kind of what I wanted ta pop in ‘bout… So ya know… in case I go off the deep end and all that shite."

"Believe we're in far far more trouble if that happens, Lam. You with your book and all. But I'm not going to dwell on all that just yet. Like I said, deal with if the time comes."

"If you go off the deep end, we'll just figure out a way to drag ya back to dry land!" Blue smiled warmly. "But like Tret says, till it happens, there's nothing to worry bout besides you messing up your teeth."

Lami nodded. "Aye. Best not ta dwell on it. I’m not fond of the idea either… but anyways…” she spun on her heels and made her way towards the door. "Thank ya fer the Tea. And yer time…hopefully next time I stop by it’s fer more just ya chat type of deal then brin’in’ sum bad news…” 

She’d smile at Blue the best she could. Offering Tret a small wave. And then just staring at wherever Sura was or could be. Unsure if she should do anything at all.

"Lam, I've told others. I'm quite invested in the end of this. We cannot deal with a second storm while we are still struggling through the first. And there is always another storm coming. Do what you can and just be ready for hell to break loose. Maybe we'll have another beach day with everyone alright after."

Sura was in Blue's arms, still staring blankly at Lami, but following her every movement like a miniature Miqo' Mona Lisa.

Blue smiled. "I'd look forward to a fun beach day with everyone and without all the craziness. You take care Lami. Really take care. Don't be going crazy on us yet."

Lami stared back at Sura. Engaging in a short contest of staring. Before she nodded, she didn’t take her eyes off Sura as she spoke. Fully invested in staring her down. 

“Aye… I also look forward ta it…” grinning abit. “Who’s ta say I’m not already crazy…”

Still staring down the smol’te she added quickly. "I’m always ready fer such thin’s. There’s plenty of storms brewin’ ‘bout. Not just the one we find ourselves in… whispers here and there are lendin’ themselves to quite the event unfoldin’ ‘efore ta much longer…"

"God d-" Tret stopped himself, eyeing the nearby child as if he knew if he finished the curse, it would absolutely be her first words. Instead, he shook his head "Well, all the more reason to start cleaning up now. If I'm going to get pulled into another distraction, I want to be done with the first one. <Son of a...>"

Tret's near-swearing caused Sura to finally break the staring game with Lami, a small smile on her face. Of course she was listening! Blue set her down and walked back over to Tret to poke him in the shoulder.

"It's fine. Storm. Second storm. Many storms! We'll get done with 'em all." She beamed over at Lami.

"Take care Lami. We'll see ya sooner than later. Say hi to Sis for me if you see her."

Lami nodded in as Sura looked away. Looking back to Blue and Tret, Now having made her way towards the door. "Aye. I will da that....though we'll see how happy she is ta see me." Rubbing the back of her head abit she'd chuckle abit more.

Smirking at Tret as she opened the door and slipped her foot out, Before making her final exit, "Always a mess ta clean up, Storm ta quell. Seems ta be how it goes with these sorta thin's...Maybe ya can manage ta find yerselves out of this particular set of storms if ya play yer cards right." And with that, Lami'd lightly close the door behind her...And fade out of view.
