The door closes upon the Hearth and Home and Blue is still upon Tret's shoulder, wriggling playfully till she secures her high perch proper, leaning forward to kiss the Hyur's cheek precariously before she regains her balance once more. Tails- they're pretty good for that sorta maneuvering.

Blue is adorned in a pretty purple ruffled dress, the same one she'd bought out with Luca what feels like moons ago. Spirits are high and the Xaela-not-Xaela is ecstatic. She went and got herself a part-time job and just finished spending time with friends she holds dear.

"Soooo I'm guessing Lami brought up the trip then?" She asks after a moment, bright eyes darting around and observing their surroundings as street lamps lit their pathway to the airship.

"Gah! What are you... Well hello there! Ah! Here... we... ok, balanced!" Tret struggled for a moment as Blue shimmied around on his head, neck, and shoulders, then found their new combined center of gravity and resumed his walk along the streets of the Mist. He raised his eyes up as she questioned him, and grinned, looking back to their path ahead "Yeah, yeah. Seemed to think you needed permission to go off on an adventure! All good though. I told her whatever you said, I'm on board. Though... She's talking about this little trip lasting moons. that's months, dear. Hell of a trip."

Blue leaned forward, gently resting her elbows on top of Tret's head, her fingers on her cheeks, listening with interest. Her scaly tail swayed to and fro, the Xaela giggling merrily at his words up until he mentioned moons. The shapeshifter pauses, heels digging ever slightly against his body as she exclaimed in surprise, "..I thought it was just a fancier term for a day! Every day has a moon you know, and a sun too! Time telling is weird here."

"moon cycles, dear. New moon to full moon and back. That would be a 'moon'. It's ... Primitive? But it makes sense when you consider it" He held her ankles, steadying her as she shifted around unexpectedly. " I'll have to find some way to amuse myself in all that time, but consider the time commitment when giving your answer. if you need, I could cover for your job with Ellie... Though I might not be quite as good a fit at shroud rose, neh?"

Blue sniffs a bit, stubbornly replying with, "A moon is a moon!" Before smiling and dropping a hand down to squeeze Tret's shoulder some. Gentle, reassuring.

"Maybe I could learn enough about aether to come n' visit or surprise you for a bit before I gotta go back." She smiles and waves politely to a couple that wander past before lowering her voice a bit. "Course I'm not really sure about that either..I got some crystals Lami gave me to glow but  aether either works with or against me sometimes."

At his mention of covering for her at the estate, Blue grows strangely silent. "I feel like I'd need to ask if that's alright. But I haven't seen him in quite some time. I've met plenty of others since I started working there, and all have been kind to me...but you know to be careful, right? Just in case?"

"If that works out? sure! wouldnt say no to visits. and we've got the pearls from Harlan. not sure if they have a distance limit, but we'd find out real quick. Bah, gonna be a long time to get out there too, remember how long it took us to get to thavnair? You're going further than that!"

As blue went quiet, he tilted his head up to look at her. somewhat. He let her muse and worry, then flashed a grin "Careful? Always. You know me, dear. I hate to bring unwanted attention. I certainly wouldnt try and tarnish your good name there."

Blue perks up a bit at the reminder of the pearls, earfins wiggling. "I almost forgot about those! I hope they work just so I can bother everybody!" She proceeds to playfully rustle through Tret's hair with her fingers. " But most especially you. You'd best bet I'll bother you when you're in the middle of something super serious at work."

As the conversation shifts, the Xaela nods, squeezing around him affectionately. "Truthfully, I still haven't really seen much bad stuff coming out of there. And I've worked at the estate for...moons... now! Just...if anything happens at all, lemme know. Goodness knows we both now got files in there."

Blue casts her gaze down at Tret before leaning forward to nuzzle her cheek against his affectionately. "It might be nice, this lil break. The dragon is sleeping now, no voices. I'm over worrying about the blood stuff. Just experience something new for a little bit. Work on my sneaky skills proper so I won't need to sneak around in the woods as a deer and get shot at."

"Yeah, Im pretty sure anything Alkaid might have is... Vague, at best. At worst she knows my deepest fears, my kidneys are valuable, and I'm absolutely screwed. Whup!" He staggered a bit when she leaned over, catching their balance and reaching up to bap her head "Hey! I'm walking here! Gotta stay still if you're gonna ride up there, lovely! Glad you've got a handle on things. I knew you could quell it. And I can certainly handle anything going on around here, myself. That way you can focus on training and learning, safe in knowing things are find here, neh?"

Blue found it wholly amusing to mess up the hyur's balance, laughing up a fit and squirming around with the utmost desire to send Tretesta off kilter- for about all of two seconds, before she relaxes and settles once more. Mischievous little lizard. She pats him and nods. "I'll do my best. It's nice to have a teacher and to learn how to do things in -this- body and just experience things I never really tried before. For all my worries and fears about all sorts of stuff, I'm... honestly really happy here."

She smiles and glances up at the sky. "..Is there anything you'd like me to grab for you in Kugane? Maybe I can finally get myself a nice dress from there. I'll need to save up some gil just for some purchases for us and the stuff I wanna bring back!"

"Can't think of anything off the top of my head to want. Don't know what they have that I can't get now, neh? You know... based on what you've told me of your lessons so far, you may end up having some money fall into your lap pretty easily. I wouldn't worry as much about saving." 

Tret fell quiet himself for a few moments, musing and keeping focus on not double faceplanting them both "...I'm happy too, Blue. I can't really relate as much to some of the things you've been going through, but I think we're pretty well adjusted now. Though... If I even think we might have a chance to leave together, I won't hesitate."

Blue flicks an ear and sighs wistfully. "Yeah...if there might be a chance...I miss being a canine. And I still want to know what's become of our friends. It's always in the back of my mind you know."

She let Tret walk unhindered but quiet, musing of her own accord for a moment before piping up again. "But you're right. We've adjusted. You know me though. All I needed to be happy was people to care about. .. ...and maybe some plants and trees..and chocobos to care for...maybe some tasty apple cider to drink.." She drifts off and smiles, tail swaying lazily behind her.

"Seems you've got almost everything you need, Blue. Hard to complain, i suppose..." Tret pauses as they approach the ferry, then slowly crouches down and kneels "Alright. This is your stop, lovely. Cant say its super safe to keep you up there on the ride back to the harbor." he carefully helped her off his shoulders and to her feet, stood back up, and leaned down to kiss her softly "We'll figure out how all this is gonna go. Hope the tea house doesnt get mad that you took the job then went on vacation immediately!"

Blue squeezed Tret's shoulder for leverage when he crouched down, before taking his hand and sweeping her legs up and out from around his neck. She got up on her tiptoes to kiss him proper, ever grinning up at him before replying, "I hope your shoulders and back don't ache in the morning! I promise I'll give you a break. I'll let you ride me back from our next ordeal." The Shapeshifter winks playfully, before taking his hand in both of hers and leading him to the ferry proper. 

"No worries dear. The Shroudrose is relatively busy- I think if I poof for a few months, it won't immediately be noticed. There should be plenty of servers...but we can worry about that later! For now I think you and I would both be at our happiest in bed."
