A Trip to Kugane - 10/25/19

[Enyo]

(The Invitation were already sent to everyone via hired courier. For those who she does not have address location, such as A’erina, she sent them to Gair and Miyuki household.)

Enyo stood at the docks of Limsa Lominsa, with her bags in tow. Her invitations were sent with sealed emblem of the Bakufu. Invitation detailed the ship that was paid for passage to and from Kugane, as well as housing while in Kugane on behalf of the Aketuski house. An all expense paid trip far east, it was the least she could do in the return for the welcoming the group was to her. Checking to make sure the proper documentation was in her satchel, as well as the approval of the visas to enter into Hingashi on her behalf.

Rather early, she decides to sit on a bench nearby waiting to see who shows up.

[Tadashi]

Wandering the docks of Limsa Lominsa, Tad attempts to look for the proper boat to board, as he prefers to arrive early. Confirming that he has found to proper boat, he looks around for a spot to wait. A brief scan reveals a familiar face, Ms. Enyo. Walking up to greet her, Tad notices the baggage and asks “Traveling Ms. Enyo? And for important people” noting the seal on the letter.

Sitting down next to her he says “I decided to return home to investigate the stories I have heard about Doman reconstruction. Worst case I train in the mountain for a little longer before returning home.”

Nodding towards the boats, “Where are you going? The seal seems familiar…”

[Enyo]

Offering a warm smile toward the young man, before looking to the ships “I am heading back to Kugane for a bit.” Still not 100% on the idea of her resignation, but her work was done here, and they wouldn't have her return. “I had made arrangements for the others in our little company to travel east with us, but I am quiet early.” Turning back to Tad, “I cannot recall the last time I was in Doma, perhaps before the occupation.”

[Tadashi]

“A group visit to Kugane? How exciting! It would be interesting to see you all in Kugane. Perhaps you all may visit the hot springs.” Tad pauses doing some math in his head. “It's been a while if you weren't here since the occupation.”

[Enyo]

“The hot springs are one of the best attractions of Kugane! Such a relaxing area.” Adjusting herself to face him. “My family is heavily tied into the Bakufu of Hingashi, so we had visited them prior to the changes, more of a consultation, as Garleans are considered welcomed in Kugane, it was something we knew a bit about.” Thinking, “Oh, how old was I? I just recall the beautiful castle, but I heard it was destroyed recently.”

[Tadashi]

“I guess it makes sense that you would have a consulate with the Garleans too, just never crossed my mind. The castle was very beautiful, and it being destroyed is a true shame.” a bit of anguish in his voice. A moment of reflection before he murmured, “I never realized how pretty it was.”

Shaking his head, “The hot springs are wonderful though! Nothing beats a rough days work like the hot springs. Up in the mountains I would find them occasionally, and they would be great!”

[Luto]

The loud clunk clank of boot to path can be heard from the large Hrothgar as he approaches the meeting point with a chest/trunk attached by a rope slung over his shoulder and with his free hand greeting the two that are in conversation and sets his luggage down with a thud and giving a good streach and says with a yawn “I ended up taking an early flight by air ship been worried I would be late, guess I got here sooner than I expected. The ship arrive yet?” He asks lazily.

[Tadashi]

Turning towards the newcomer, Tad sees the large Hrothgar walking down the dock, and raises a hand in greeting. “Better to be early then late, no? I don't think the ship is here yet, but we are near to where we depart.” Motioning for the Hrothgar to sit down, he slide towards the end to make room. “I feel so minimalistic” Tad chuckles, gazing at the luggage of his companions. “Can't imagine carrying too much around, but I have what I need on me.”

[Enyo]

Enyo chuckles at the two, looking out toward the ship in the not far distance. “Sadly it is here but looks like we will be ferried to it.” Nodding toward the massive orinate ship in the harbor. “I had originally planned to take Akiko vessel, but I have not seen her in a while. The Kuroboro Maru will take us to our destination.” Looking at the lot that Luto was carrying, she even felt minimalistic in comparison. “I fear most of my luggage is business related.”

[Pipino]

Quick little clicks can be heard as the hard soles of Pipino's shoes make swift contact. Jogging a little in her traveling clothes, Pipino carries a modest suitcase. She waves shyly as she approaches and stops by the group, taking a moment to gather her breath. Through it all, the Lalafell looks the happiest, and probably most energetic, any of them had probably ever seen her. “Ah, hello everyone!” she says cheerily at last. “I am glad the day to depart has arrived at last. I have been counting down the suns for quite a time now.”

[Enyo]

“Hello Miss Pino!” Enyo offer a wave, and smile. “The excitement definitely made the wait longer, however I am glad the day is here now.” In hailing the salty air, and enjoying the warmth of the rising sun. “With the weather on ourside, the voyage should be splendid”

[Tadashi]

Laughing at Ms. Pino's enthusiasm, Tad waves in greeting. “It is amusing to me that it is that exciting, but I felt the same when I came here, so what can I say. The weather is great, but I hope no one gets seasick along our journey.”

[Pipino]

“Perhaps I have…over-romanticized the place a bit but…well, I have heard tale of the beautiful art that exists there for as long as I have been learning about the subject. My brushes come from there as well, so I feel like I have always been so close, yet so ar away from something important. It feels as though it is a place that does not truly exist.”

[Tadashi]

Smiling at Ms. Pino's enthusiasm, Tad nods, the energy contagious. “The art here is unique, in that it focuses mainly on ink and brush, in one color, while Eorzean art seems to have more color to it. The landscapes are certainly different then those of Eorzea, but whether they strike your fancy or not I cannot say.” Looking off to the horizon. “It is amazing that your brushes come from there, but I do think that you are severely over-romanticizing it. It is a normal city like any other, just with a very different culture from Eorzea.”

[Pipino]

“You are most likely not wrong, Mr. Tad, but ever the same, seeing is the only true way to believing something. I have packed several sketchbooks for cataloguing the architecture and art. I fear my hand may come apart at the wrist before this trip is done!”

[Tadashi]

Glances at the other two who he has almost forgotten were there. “Are you guys also this excited? I feel as though Ms. Pino would have the energy to swim across the Ruby Sea and back if there was something to be drawn from it. It would be a bit of a handful to have to watch all of you if you are this excited.” smiling mirthfully at Ms. Pino. “Out of curiosity, what are you sketch books made out of? You mentioned you got your brushes from the Far East, but you could also get your sketch books from here too. Though I am no master of what the differences would be.”

[A'erina]

Approaching the group fashionably late, the Miqo'te notices the presence of Pipino, Enyo, Tad and Lutomis. “ Sorry if you had to wait for me.” She says, “ I had to drop off a few things to someone on my way here.” A'erina had her usual satchel slung around her shoulder, Across the other shoulder was a bandolier containing several vials full of liquids, aswell as a belt, that too containing a number of vials. She looked like a crazed Apothecary, over prepared and perhaps just missing a hint of insanity to be an evil scientist. She had a small rope bound sled which is was dragging along, the rope was thick and very much new. Upon the sled was a small trunk and a sack containing some of her belongings because she didnt know how long they would away for. She put on a positive face as she went to mingle with her friends but she knew she was not very good at being on a boat.

[Pipino]

Pipino waves daintily at A'erina as she sees her approach. “Well then, you all make me out to be the very picture of minimalism,” Pipino laughs, motioning to all of the luggage. “Just in case you had suspicions, I had already sent luggage ahead of me. You do all know that is an option, yes? You are all monsters for being able to carry so many things with you like this. I do not think I would have made it out my front door.”

[Gair]

The poor, poor highlander was a Twelvesdamned pack mule. Carrying enough luggage for two, but his second was curiously absent. In a particularly light blue bag, some hastily discarded clothing and sandals peek out from it just barely and an uncharacteristically dainty sun hat adorns the top of Gair's head. The wide brim of his hat keeping him from immediately noticing his companions some thirty paces away as he mills about for the correct boat.

[Enyo]

Enyo chuckled regarding the conversation, as she watched ferry transport leave The Kuroboro Maru and make it's way to an empty dock. Others travelers ready themselves for their voyage. Turning to the group breaking to the others, “The sleeping arrangements should not be to bad. There are close quarters, but still level of privacy, two rooms with 4 bunks.” (More of bunk bed than hammocks.)

[Gair]

Gair was drawn by the sight of a familiar Hingashi woman, desperate nodding of his head to push the sunhat back and spy her beyond the brim. “Oh, Enyo!” He calls from some small distance away, approaching the familiar group.

[Enyo]

Hearing her name, she looks up to the traveling dressed version of Gair, amazed he wasnt in some Limsa palm tree shirt, she waved before noticing the luggage in sheer horror. “Did you pack your whole house?” She called out laughing.

[Gair]

“Nope.. just clothes and armor.. and Miyuki's stuff.” Gair straightens himself up, dressed rather normally by accounts. While there was no palm tree shirt, he was sporting plain wooden sandals. “Stupid me, I sent Gust to the on-ship stables 'fore I put most of the bulk in his saddlebags.”

[Tadashi]

Distracted looking out at sea, Tad snaps back to attention, and notices A'erina and Gair. “Hello both of you! You both look like you brought enough to move to Kugane.” With a smile. “Do you need any assistance Gair? Or A'erina, though you look like the sled is doing just fine.”

Turning towards Enyo, “There are what… 7 of us? That means the ladies get one room and we will take the other. Works out fairly nicely. Unless you all have other plans.”

[Gair]

“I was told I had to pack my armor and not wear it on the ship.” Gair explains, his left jostling the gear bag that takes up the bulk of his things. “I'll be fine, but thanks. It'd be more manageable if that damn lizard didn't suddenly strip down and leap into the ocean.”

At Tad's far less scandalous suggestions for sleeping arrangements. “Sounds good to me, gives Luna little room'ta bitch.”

[Pipino]

Pipino greets Gair with a small wave, grinning excitedly still, the mood of departure and long travel really getting her in the spirit of things. “I would not have the sleeping arrangements any other way,” she notes with a laugh. “I shall stand in solidarity with Luna in this matter steadfasty.”

[Gair]

“Not like we 'ain grown and responsible adults *anyhow*.” Gair grunts with effort and adjusts the leather rucksack, steel and other various fantasy metals clattering together as he gets the strap further up his shoulder. “How're you feelin'?”

[Miyuki]

The only indication of Miyuki's presence at this time is the occasional splash and a flash of her black hair as she darts around beneath the water's surface. The various workers milling about the dock who have spotted her look equal parts amused and flabbergasted.

[Gair]

Gair's Mhigan senses tingle as he idly watches for the odd dockworker's reaction to the woman just flitting about the water effortlessly. “Hmm…” He leaves the three larger bags at his feet near his trusted company. Not straying too far, but it seems this fisherman is interested in a particular Raen quarry. Kneeling down, hand at the ready to snatch a tail.

[Tadashi]

Looks at Gair, tilting his head in confusion. “What are you hoping do to there? Fish aren't going to jump out of the water into your hand you know. And if you are trying to catch the lady in the water, I hope she isn't foolish enough to swim into your hand there.”

[Gair]

Gair flashes a grin over at Tad. “A regular 'ol lady in the lake, I wonder if she'll give me a sword?” He circles around to the opposite side of the dock they occupy, following Miyuki's darting movements in and around the area.

All at once be bolts to a point where her path intersects with solid ground. Skidding as he kneels down, hand shooting down to snatch something up with an audible splash. “Got'cha!” With some small tug a white scaled tail comes wiggling into view. He leans over and scoops his other hand in, pulling a pale Raen with black hair and blue eyes from the depths. Dripping with the draught of the seas as he orients his grip, acting as a muscle-bound hammock as he holds her in a bridal carry. Saying nothing to her so far, just flashing a self-satisfied grin at her.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki lets out a rather undignified squawk as she is yanked very abruptly from the water. She spends a few seconds just blinking up at Gair's face in shock before her mouth pulls down into a fierce scowl. “Rude!” Reaching up, she plucks the sunhat from the top of Gair's head and wriggles out of his hold, landing deftly on bare feet. She places the sunhat onto her own head before offering a rather belated greeting to the small gathering on the dock. “Hello everyone!”

[Luto]

Lutomis greets the late comers and just sits back and watches everything unfold before him giving a chuckle at the activities.

[A'erina]

A'erina just laughs at the scene, her cousin always making her smile, despite never showing it incase he thought her just like the rest of the family who adored him, She had to keep up that whole I like you but I also hate you relationship with him. “ Hey Miyuki” she offers a little wave but in doing so a vial accidentally dislodges itself from her bandolier and falls to the floor, she looks down at the liquid looks before pushing a small nearby crate over the mess on the floor and kicking the glass into the nearby water.

[Gair]

Gair relinquishes his grasp on Miyuki easily enough and barks out a laugh at her reactions to his heavy-handed fishing. “Didn't like bein' swept off your feet?” He reaches out and pinches Miyuki's side teasingly before he backs up to their bags to fish out her sandals and toss them at her feet. Appearing quite content to resume his role as pack mule, oddly enough.

[Enyo]

“A water lizard out of water, I think you scared the fishermen Miss Miyuki.” She chuckled, and looked to others. “The ferry is nearly here, then, ” pointing to the ship, “We make this Journey!” Enyo looked around for the last member. Unsure if they she would be joining the group.

[Tadashi]

Tad laughs at Gair's fishing abilities. “I didn't expect that, but well done I guess? And hello Miyuki! I am Tad. I don't believe we have met.” Turning towards the party. “They don't need their own room do they? I can sleep on deck if needed.”

Looking at A'erina he shakes his head, but says nothing.

[Pipino]

Pipino grins as she watches the scene unfold and releases a contented sigh, making her way closer to the edge of the pier to take in the craft as it came in as Enyo made her announcement, clearly ready to start the adventure as soon as possible and wanting to be close to the action.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki beams down at Tad, clearly excited. Another smol lalafel friend acquired! “It's nice to meet you too!” It takes a second for Tad's comment to register, and when it does her eyes widen as she looks back at Gair, who mirrors her incredulous expression. “No, of course we don't!” She scurries off to join Pipino at the edge of the pier.

[Gair]

Gair's cheeks darken some at the mention of needing a room. Staring long at Miyuki for a moment with a look of bewilderment. “Gods, why would we?” He similarly parts similarly to find Lutomis. “L'o, Luto.” He jabs his chin up the pier. “Met the little mender who keeps me chippin' along, yet?”

[Pipino]

Pipino gives Miyuki a warm smile as she joins her. “I cannot believe I will actually be going at last,” she muses, probably for the twentieth time this week.

[Enyo]

Enyo just smiled at everyone. Yet ready to make this journey to her home, she seemed distant. Grabbing her belongings, traveling lighter, she made her way over to the ferry, speaking in Hingashi to crewman boarding the guest. The man checked a log, and nodded. She called to the others, “They're ready for us!”

[Miyuki]

Miyuki returns Pipino's smile, her excitement and anticipation infectious. “Will this be your first trip to the east?”

[Pipino]

“Yes! It is something I have been dreaming of for a long while. I know it may sound mundane to you as it does to Mr. Tad, but I cannot help but feel it will be a moving experience to be surrounded by such different scenery.” She turns to look to Enyo as the announcement is given, looking back to Miyuki. “Well…I suppose it is time for an adventure of sorts.”

[Luna]

The proud knight appears from inside the boat in her usual casual attire with a pair of shades on her head. She steps onto the deck, looking out at all of the group. “Well, good to see you all finally!” She says jovially, motioning to them as she walks down to the pier. “Ms Enyo, Ms Pipino, Ms A'erina, Ms Miyuki, Sir Tad, Sir Lutomis! Gair.” She says, ending plainly.

[Tadashi]

Nods in greeting at Luna, then turns to Ms. Pino. “I never wanted to make it out to be mundane. It is still a great experience to return home. And now I have friends to show it to.”

Moving to board the boat, he pauses to discuss the matter of his weapons with the crewman.

[A'erina]

A'erina hauls her shit to the boat, and her eyes go crossed for a moment when she realises she is actually getting on a boat. Looking at a pile of stuff yet be loaded on, her eye catches a bucket with rope for a handle, empty, “ Oh, what luck.” she beams as she picks it up and puts it with her things, almost certain she will fill it up a few times during the trip.

[Tadashi]

Noticing A'erina's motions, Tad looks at her. “You are a potion maker and yet you can't deal with motion sickness? Well, I guess we all have our weaknesses.”

Then he turns to board the boat, scrambling up the ladder, before looking around the deck. Turning back to his companions, he waits to see if any need assistance up the deck.

[Luto]

Answering Gair “Nay I haven't, but why wouldn't you want a room, seems to be quite a catch.” Motioning to his well versed swimming mender.

[Gair]

Gair's attentions are dragged up to the knightess who spoke up from the deck of the ship, quipping back at the rather plain greeting. “Surprised you can see me, yeti. What with that big nose you're lookin' down at me from.” He snorts, conferring with Lutomis just out of earshot before he joins the rest of the boarding group. “She's way outta my league, merc.” And he hauls ALL the things with him.

[Luna]

Luna offers a deep laugh at Gair's protest. “Even from on high I can see you are absolutely overwhelmed by the burdens of romance.” She jokes at his expense.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki perks up as she sees and hears Luna, giving her an enthusiastic wave as she makes her way onto the ship's deck with Pipino. “Even though I came to Eorzea from Kugane, I wasn't able to explore the city much as preparations took up the bulk of my time, so I'm definitely excited to be able to return for leisure!”

[A'erina]

A'erina snaps at the little one “ I prefer the term Mixologist, Potion Maker sounds very amatuerish. Besides, I can't just whip up a potion that can stop me from getting seasick, thats not how it works.” Hurling her stuff onto the boat “ Ayyy, It's the fuckin' Yeti, How have you been?”

[Luto]

Mutters under his breath “With that attitude yeah.” Begins hauling his luggage greeting the Knight in passing.

[Enyo]

Enyo a bit surprised by Luna sudden appearance, a bit amused “Couldn't wait?” Boarding the ferry, feeding off the atmosphere, excitement and joy becoming contagious. “I am glad you all are here.”

[Pipino]

Pipino nods her understanding to Miyuki. “Well then, we will just have to make sure we find all of the good things you have missed. Although…I might end up just sitting around sketching things all day long in a trance,” she laughs. She waves at Luna and takes in the scale and scope of the deck as she sets foot on it, immediately wanting to run off to somewhere that had the most impressive view of the sea and unable to hide the fact.

[Gair]

“Naught romantic 'bout bein' a regular 'ol pack mule, icebrain.” Gair bites back at Luna as he steps up onto the deck of the ferry. Seeking out a spot to put his and Miyuki's luggage, finally letting the load off. He finishes that thought, “But where you're from, all those pencil necked boys 'prolly need you to get this, that and the other. Can't get their soft 'lil hands dirty!”

[Enyo]

(we are boarded onto the main ship at this point.)

Enyo looks around the familiar simple but yet beautiful deck, before turning back to the others, mainly Gair, “You could have the crew members help you with your belongs, even escort them.” As the Captain and first mate made their way over to the group, *“Anything you need, including assistance as Lady Enyo mentioned, just let us know.” The captain chuckled out before calling out to the orders to the crew mates*. Enyo offered the group a smile, and nearly skipping forward the entrance to the quarters.

[Tadashi]

Grinning, Tad moves towards the rigging, allowing his crew mates to unpack their belongings before doing the same, instead choosing to get some practice in. Withdrawing two batons from his knapsack, he begins climbing the rigging while twirling one of them. Checking with the crew to make sure he is out of the way, he begins to dangle himself in various ways from the rigging, all the while twirling the batons.

Hanging upside down, he looks to see if any of his companions have emerged from stowing their belongings.

[Luna]

The knightess had already stowed her belongings minus her blade, ever-fastened to her waist. She now stood on the deck, looking out over the ocean with some minor trepidation. She flipped the shades down onto her face in an effort to hide any visible concern, sighing lightly to herself.

[Luto]

After stowing his belongings he returns to the deck in just trousers and his boots, smelling the fresh salty sea air. He looks at Luna and checks to make sure Gair is out of ear shot “Wanna make a wager?” He says with a sly grin “on who makes the first move between Gair and his friend.”

[Luna]

Luna turns to Luto, curious. “What would that be then?” she asks.

[Luto]

“Say 5,000 gil?” He replys “and you get to choose your chocobo as it were, to give a nudge in the right direction.” He adds

[Luna]

She paused, looking at him wide-eyed for a moment. “OH! THAT is what you mean. Saints above, I have no desire to take part in your lustful betting games, Sir!” she says indignantly.

[Luto]

“Bah.” He says to Lunas reaction, “just a bit of fun, but I wont pester you further about it.” Waving off the wagering idea.

“You ever been to Kugane?” He asks

[Pipino]

Pipino leaves her luggage with a crew member to move to their bunks and immediately jogs off – yes, she jogs even though she has never been seen doing so – to find the nearest vantage point to see the most of the sea as possible, wanting to see the horizon stretch endlessly off around her. She climbs a bit on the railing of the ship and rests her elbows on the top-most rail, resting her chin in her hands and sighing.

[A'erina]

A'erina drops her stuff in a pile and sits next to it on the floor, her legs outstretched and her hands resting on her head, “ How long will the journey take?” she looks out the open sea, already the taste of barf in her mouth.

[Tadashi]

Noticing Ms. Pino take to the railings, Tad chuckles, and flips down onto the deck. Approaching her, he calls out “There are better spots to see you know. You can go up to the crow's nest at the top of the ship, which requires some climbing, but will give you an extensive view of the whole horizon, or you can go to the front or back of the boat to get a broader view.”

[Pipino]

Pipino blushes and looks a bit flustered, calling back. “I….I am afraid of heights,” she confesses.

[Luna]

“No, I can not say I ever had.” she mused.

[Tadashi]

Smiles at Ms. Pino. “Nothing need to be bashful. We are all afraid of something. You can either try to conquer your fear, or be content with what you have. I don't mean to push you either way, but the view from up top is exquisite.”

[Gair]

Gair makes his way below deck and drops the combination of his and Miyuki's belongings off in the rooms, out of them: he retrieves a long, black leather case in the shape of an acoustic guitar. Stepping above deck onto the leisurely ship, he finds a nice quiet spot atop the aftcastle to settle down from a relatively safe spot from on high.

[Pipino]

“I would sooner throw myself into the ocean than hazard climbing a ladder that tall in the wind,” she states simply, shaking her head. “You enjoy yourself.”

[Tadashi]

Turning back towards the rigging, Tad smiles. “Why not do both? But suit yourself.” he calls back, before scrambling up the rigging and resuming twirling the batons.

[Miyuki]

After making sure Gair has dropped off all their belongings properly, Miyuki races back up onto the deck and proceeds to park herself beside Pipino at the railing, sitting on the deck with her legs dangling over the edge. She inhales a deep lungful of exquisite salty seabreeze before she catches sight of Tad doing impressive feats of acrobatics, prompting a burst of delighted laughter. “Having fun up there, Tad?”

[Tadashi]

Upon hearing Miyuki, he loses concentration for a moment, almost dropping a baton, and missing his catch on the rigging. Falling to the deck with a loud thud, he groans. “I was. Until someone distracted me.” Getting up and wincing, he turns to Miyuki. “It's not terrible though. If you aren't afraid of heights its not terrible.”

[Gair]

Likely not all that audible over the bustle of people and crashing of the waves on the upper deck of the ship. The notes of a stringed instrument can be heard being plucked, disparate tunes ringing out- the telltale sign of someone tuning a guitar.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki yelps in alarm as Tad tumbles to the deck, immediately withdrawing her legs back onto the deck and shuffling over to him on her knees to check him for injuries. After a short moment, she seems satisfied that Tad appears no worse for the wear and gets back onto her feet before turning her gaze upwards to the crow's nest. “I think I'd like to see what the ocean looks like from up there.” She grins down at Tad. “Lead the way?”

[Tadashi]

Turning to Ms. Pino smiling. “You sure you don't want to climb up? Else I have to push you into the ocean when I get back down.”

Then turning to the rigging, he gestures towards the middle. “It will sway, so be ready for that. However, it won't flip over so that's a plus. Just don't panic and you will be fine.”

Stowing his batons, he begins to climb up, turning to make sure that Miyuki doesn't need any assistance, before continuing his climb to the top.

[Gair]

At the sight of Tad ascending the rigging, Gair looks up from his seated spot at the movement. Sitting up and forward in clear interest to see just where he will ascend. “Enjoyin' yourself up there, eh?”

[Pipino]

Pipino laughs and waves a dismissive hand at Tad, watching him climb as she shakes her head at his and Miyuki's dangerous daring before turning back to the sea, taking in the vista and concerning herself with the blend of colors it would take to properly capture the endless expanse.

[Enyo]

Enyo watching the show while leaning against then the entrance to the lower deck. Chuckling at the high spirits of everyone, she turned and made way to the opposite side of the rig. Having a hard time filling her idle time.

[Tadashi]

Laughing to Gair, “Miyuki just happened to ask the same thing.” Smiling he calls back, “It's fun until someone distracts you and you fall.”

[Gair]

Realizing there is something he can do in this moment, Gair sets his guitar back into it's case and latches it shut. “How 'bout I make that way up a 'lil safer.” He steps over to the railing of the aftcastle, influenced by the parkouring everyone else is doing and just vaults over onto the main deck with everyone else and beneath Tad's own climbing. “I'll just catch ya if you fall.” He holds his arms out in suggestion, content to watch.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki ascends up the rigging carefully, not terribly daunted by the height but still practicing caution nonetheless. Upon reaching the crow's nest uneventfully, she peers over the edge and waves down at the small form of Gair below.

[Gair]

Gair sidles from side to side to make sure he is at a halfway point beneath Tad and Miyuki as either of them ascend to the crows nest. At Miyuki's wave, he does so right back and call up to her. “How's the view? Must be the first time you've seen the top of my head!”

[Miyuki]

Miyuki rolls her eyes with the air of someone who has been on the receiving end of that particular jab far too many times for it to faze her any longer. “Yeah yeah, laugh it up, at least I don't have to duck through doorways!” She turns her gaze towards Pipino's distant figure down below. “Are you sure you don't want to try coming up, Pipino? The view is well worth it!”

[Pipino]

Pipino turns her head toward them, calling up. “The only way you would get me up there is if someone picked me up and carried me!” she said, clearly meaning for it not to happen. “It is not a small fear of heights that I have and I just may be too busy screaming and trembling to take in much of anything!”

[Gair]

Gair barks out an easy laugh, his hand raising to wag a finger at Miyuki from a distance. “Fair, but at least I don't own a step stool!” His gaze falls down to the aristocratic Lalafel in their presence, offering sidelong. “I could give you a ride up the mast, far more steady than the riggin'.”

[Pipino]

“Do not even think about it,” she warns Gair with a grin and a stern pointed finger wagging.

[Gair]

Gair steps toward Pipino, attempting to find his angle to convince her. “No? And here I thought you'd find the view inspirin'. You of all folk might appreciate Hydaelyn's horizon to capture on canvas.”

[Pipino]

Pipino looks back up to the mast, a hand moving toward her brow to shelter her eyes, blinking a bit in the sun. “W-welI… You are not exactly wrong… I am sure it would be inspiring…,” she admits, turning to look at the horizon again before looking back up. She gives Gair her consideration again. “I do not know if you are prepared to deal with the hysterics that could ensue,” she says with a small laugh.

[Gair]

In answer, Gair unsheathes his claymore from the rather large bandolier that holds it. “I'm certain you'll have little to fret over,” he explains, turning about face to show Pipino the full breadth of the garment that holds his weapon: a sturdy bandolier with a myriad of places to hook and hold onto, not to mention the half-sheathe that could easily accommodate a Lalafel. “How 'bout it?”

[Pipino]

“The only thing I have to fear is your grip,” she says with a sigh. “Very well…I shall embrace the spirit of the trip and be adventurous. Who knows when I will have the opportunity again, yes?” she posits, motioning for him to come closer. From her perch on the railing, she already was a lot closer to where she needed to be, and would use her higher position to assist her in climing up to his back. “I…cannot believe I let you people talk me into these things. What ever has gotten into me?”

[Tadashi]

Laughing down to Ms. Pino. “I think he wanted you to climb into the sheath of his halfbed… but if you want to hold on, I guess that works? I do need to throw you into the water then.” With a smile. Gazing around the horizon, he smiles. Then dropping down onto the rigging, “There won't be enough space for all of us up there, so I will hang down here.”

[Gair]

Gair steps closer to Pipino and raises an arm as a perch for her to clamber across and onto his shoulders to wherever she desires to settle down. “I have a feelin' this wont be the last time we get you to do somethin'.” His attentions draw up to Tad, shrugging the shoulder farthest for Pipino in suggestion. “There's more than enough room for you up here, if you wish.”

[Tadashi]

Shakes his head “I meant up in the crows nest. Not in the sheath…”

[Pipino]

Pipino looks at Gair's proffered arm and blushes a bit. While she knew she was extremely light compared to the larger folk, a girl could not help but be a bit self-conscious about her figure when one's arms and shoulders would be bearing the full weight of it. Plus she had to think of the best way to even make contact with him to get to his suggested shoulder. She had reached her arm out hesitantly around three times before she she finally just went for it, albeit a bit ungracefully. She muttered apologies as she sort of…crawled along him, blushing the whole way until she made it to his right. She sat on his shoulder with her legs dangling over his back, neatly turning herself around and hooking the crook of her knees through his bandolier, the strap acting a bit as a seat of sorts how with how tightly it was fastened to his body. Her right hand hooks over Aard's shoulder and holds on to the front of the bandolier, her left finding purchase on the back of his shirt, fingers fastening in it in a little ball. She was blushing furiously the whole while. “I hope not all of the strange things I do are this strange,” she said, bristling with the indignity of it all.

[Gair]

The simple-minded man appears to stand a little straighter as he bears the weight of Pipino, no matter how diminutive or light she is by comparison to others. Gair looks to his side and flashes a toothy grin for her. “It's not all that strange: and I get a kick outta pickin' folk up anyhow,” he admits to her and steps toward the main mast, putting a foot on one of the wooden rungs that leads up. “Just think'a me like a big friendly chocobo.” Before he begins to ascend the mast, making the odd, “Wark!' and “Kweh!' impression.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki looks down at Gair and Pipino with unabashed amusement. “The oaf can climb rather well for one so boorish.” she jests. “Some advice, Pipino - don't look down!”

[Pipino]

“This chocobo seems poorly trained. Is there a less noisy one I can choose?” she snarks back, bracing herself for an upward trajectory. She looks up at Miyuki and calls back. “The plan was to not look at all!”

[Tadashi]

“If you are too dissatisfied with it's services, the chocobo may leave you up here.” With a smile. “There are two others up here, that may be able to ferry you down, if you ask nicely.”

[Gair]

Dry by contrast to the seas they are surrounded by, Gair suggests rather flatly to Pipino. “I could always make airship noises for you.” As he ascends higher and higher, finally reaching Miyuki's feet. His shoulders completely level with the platform of the crow's nest for a departure and arrivals. “Callin' me an oaf and boor all at once.” Trying out his rather limited grasp of Hingashi once Miyuki is much closer. <“Stupid lizard.”>

[Tadashi]

Shaking his head, he offers a helping hand to Ms. Pino, before realizing what Gair said. With a bit of a smile he responds in Hingashi <“Careful, she might kick you down the mast if you keep insulting her… Not that she seems like the type to.”>

[Pipino]

Pipino clings desperately to Gair having ventured to peak. She unwisely did look down once the movement stopped and she gasped, tightening her grip on every part of Gair's possessions that she had been using. He would be able to feel her body trembling against him. She looks to Tad's hand with a worried look. “Suddenly I mistrust your grip more than I have ever mistrusted anything.”

[Miyuki]

Miyuki merely arches a sleek eyebrow as she looks down at Gair. “Tad is right, you should be very careful indeed, especially so as you're in a rather precarious position right now.” She lifts a foot to nudge the toe of her sandal against Gair's forehead lightly ~~STEPPIES~~. She then turns to the terrified-looking Pipino with a reassuring smile. “Here, hold onto Tad and I, we'll steady you.” She holds out a hand towards Pipino as well.

[Tadashi]

(Pipino wants uppies 😄 )

[Pipino]

Pipino moves both of her arms quickly as if she would instantly fall off him if she did not have both hands on him to drape over Gair's right shoulder, clinging to his bandolier again and making sure she felt solid before extending her shaking right hand to Tad, color drained from her face. “If you let me fall, I will never stop haunting you.”

[Tadashi]

Hooking his feet around the rope, and deciding to be serious in the moment, he extends his shoulder for Ms. Pino to grasp, his hands forming a foothold for him to boost the lalafel up. Bracing for her step.

[Gair]

Gair tilts his head back as the toe thuds his forehead. “Be careful there, I can find out very quickly if those feet are ticklish.” Content to sit on the wooden rungs of the crows nest and lean back against the circular railing that encompasses the small footpath. As efforts are made to safely deposit Pipino onto solid ground, he spreads his arms to either side to more or less occupy the complete ladderspace.

[Pipino]

The lalafell is at first concerned, and then relieved as Gair changes his position, her right hand immediately grabbing for the Bandolier again as she lets out a small yelp of distress. When he stops, she looks behind and down and, to her relief, a platform is ready for her arrival. Pulling her body up a bit to release her legs from their tangle in the bandolier, Pipino sort of vaults herself off of Gair's back a bit shakily, landing a bit ungracefully on the floor of the crow's nest without much help from Tad and Miyuki.

[Tadashi]

Moving to a more comfortable position and grinning wildly Tad looks up as Ms. Pino. “Welcome! How is the view? Was it worth the trip?”

[Pipino]

Pino carefully moves to the edge of the crows nest, looking over the rail and her eyes widen, her jaw going a bit slack as she looks in awe. “Oh….oh wow.”

[Tadashi]

(That's it? No majestic inspiration?)

[Pipino]

(I'm working up to it – I've been trying not to broadcast inner thoughts in emotes and working on my brevity. RIght now, she's just awed into silence and is thinking her thoughts )

[Enyo]

The Captain of the Kuroboro Maru stood watching the group, a very sleepy Enyo made her way back up to the deck looking around for the group. Walking next to the older man, he nodded up to the crows nest. “If any of them fall, it's on them, I'm not paying for their funeral.” He spoke frankly. Looking up, shaking her head. “All in fun.” Yawning, and stretching “You were young and filled with curiosity once.”

The captain responded, “You aren't that old Miss, I'm surprised you aren't climbing about with your companions.” Waving it off, she yawned again, “I'm sure if you call for galley to be opened, they will come down. Nothing changes a man faster then a warm plate.” She made her return to the quarters, where she had claimed a bunk, crawling in to sleep.

[Pipino]

Pipino slowly circles around the Crow's nest, her eyes still wide and sparkling, darting over the long line of the horizon and the sky, a seemingly endless expanse of water surrounding them no matter where she turned.

“Yes… I daresay this was worth it,” she replies to Tad in a bit of a dreamy voice.

[Gair]

Evidently more used to the seas of sands that engulf Thanalan's horizons, Gair finds a rather relaxing spot from his space on the rungs of the way up. Contentedly watching the curves of the ocean blue for the moment.

[Tadashi]

Satisfied that Ms. Pino is enjoying herself, he withdraws his batons again, and returns to training, while the two up top soak in the sights. Shaking his head, he is unsure about the beauty they see in the water around. “Let me know if you want to come down” he calls, before climbing down the ropes, and resuming his training.

[Pipino]

(Tad makes me react more strongly and then he fucks off xD )

[Tadashi]

(Yep!)

[Luna]

Luna has now taken a seat firmly on the deck near the edge of the ship, watching the water pass by but decidedly not moving. She is quite keen on the infinite-stretching oceanscape, though perhaps the movement of the ship is less kind to her.

[Pipino]

She makes her way around the small circular platform before settling near Gair, looking off in a perpendicular trajectory to him. “I don't know if it is because I live in such a cursed, dry, and dusty city, but I cannot help but feel as if water changes me every time I interact with it.” She pauses a moment, gathering her thoughts and giving a small laugh. “I feel like I am like a rock, immutable except for the sands of time, unable to make rapid changes, only changed by others slowly and gradually in small steps.” She sweeps her eyes across the horizon. “Water is so… capricious. Always free to weave its way wherever it will, banding together to sweep through a landscape without a care. Adaptable and flexible, taking whatever form is necessary. It can fly through the sky and gather as a cloud, and fall to refresh those who need it. It brings life and nutures things. I think I become spellbound by that quality of it, being a rock. What good does a rock do, sitting there doing naught for anyone? I am envious of it,” she muses poetically, clearly in some kind of artistic reverie.

[Gair]

The vertiable rockhead among them lingers there, lending his ear to Pipino's musings of water and rock. Apparently having his own view to offer, beginning with, “Ya can't build a house from water.” Gair draws in a breath, the dull advocate for stone he is. “Stone holds Ul'dah's great wealth, gold, silver, gems, *iron*- for those patient and wise enough'ta pull it from Hydaelyn. The rock is wealth, weapons, tools, home. It's the flame of might, the gem of prosperity, and the scales upon which they are weighed.” The gears turn and he finds the right word. “*Stability*. But.. I will agree the ocean blue and those that dwell among it are a rather enchanting sight.” Whether consciously or no, his gaze falls on the Raen in their midst.

[Pipino]

“Hm.” She hums, letting that sink in. “Interesting. You think I of all people would have thought of that.”

[Tadashi]

Tad almost falls off the rigging again, shocked by Gair's sudden insight. Following his gaze, he smirks, but decides not to comment. “The land does provide a lot for us, the minerals that Ul'dah has, but also the verdant bounties of Gridania too. The greenery there however, is supplemented by water. Limsa Lominsa on the other hand, has too much water, and while it receives a vast bounty from the ocean, it has little place to call its own, and must precariously build itself into the cliffs. I imagine one would need a balance of both. Same as in life. Stability is great, it means that you have a set in stone life, and you don't need to worry about your future. But that can get dull, which may be less desirable, in which case you want the fluidity and freedom of water.”

[Pipino]

“Well, sure Mr. Tad, but one cannot simultaneously be both a stone and water. You would just become mud, and the foundation you were holding up would crumble. I feel like I am mud lately,” she says with a bit of a self-depricating laugh.

[Tadashi]

Shakes his head, climbing closer to hold a conversation. “I did not mean both at the same time. You need to swap as needed. Perhaps one moment I need the rigidity of rock, the other I need the water's adaptability. Mixing the two is bad, because you attempt to imitate both, but receive the benefits of neither, as you have pointed out. I am not the best at providing advice, so this may be useless to you.” Falling silent he paused for a moment, listening to the breeze.

“With time the mud will dry, and will regain it's hardness. Or the water will wash it away and regain it's fluidity. If you feel like mud now, you should relax, and enjoy the trip. Let the change of pace calm you.”

Then Tad shakes his head. “I don't know where that came from, nor if it was useful. Sorry.”

[Pipino]

“Well not before everything collapses first,” she said grimly. “But I suppose it is nice to know I would be fine after time. But that is a lot of chaos to cause for selfish whims.”

[Enyo]

(Moving into the arrival of Kugane soon. If you want to wrap up anything first.)

[Pipino]

(nah, I'm just waxing poetic until things move along :P )

[Pipino]

(don't have any particular boaty scenes in mind, but If anyone thinks of something fun they'd like to do with Pino, I'm up for it)

[Enyo]

(All good just didnt want the scene ending in the midst of everyone up in the crows nest lol. I will start the post for Arrival this evening.)
(I am excited to write this!)

[Enyo]

The captain called up to the group on the crow’s nest, encouraging them to come down for the evening meal in the Galley. Over the next several days, the weather was less then desirable, as the ship continued to follow a storm.

On the final day of the Trip, the weather was over-casted, yet pleasant and warm. Near mid afternoon the sights of Kugane appeared in the distance. Steam rising from the oriental buildings cloaked the city in a blanket from a distance. Enyo leaning against the railing of the front bow, enjoying the view of what she once called home.

[Pipino]

Pipino had been hovering on the deck the entire morning after breakfast, eyes flicking over the horizon every minute as she occupied her time sketching, afraid that she would miss seeing the first glimpses of their destination. Yells and a visible flurry of action alerted her to their proximity to their destination, the Lalafell hopping up and tearing her way over to where Enyo was leaning. She climbed up on the railing to take a better look, her face lit up with excitement. “It is so strange to think there is a whole world I know so little about stretching before us.” She pauses, keeping her eyes on the horizon. “Are you happy to be close to home?”

[Enyo]

“Here I think the same way of Eorzea,” smiling to Pino, “I am thrilled to see my family, but more so a bit nervous regarding my employment. I plan to resign from my position, and return to where I now call home.” Inhaling the familiar scent of the air, “oh, I miss the food here, even though our supply of cakes is lackluster.”

[Pipino]

“Oh, that is quite the upheaval,” she says turning her head and looking up at Enyo with a bit of concern. “Is… Is all well with you? I only hope it is for positive reasons that you are making such changes.”

[Enyo]

“Everything is well,” pulling her gaze from the horizon to Pino, offering a reassuring smile and nod, before returning it to the city in the distance. “My parents helped me get the position, but I need to learn how to obtain my own desires. If I return home, then I am expected to be married or consort. If I stay in Eorzea, then I have freedoms away from the obligation of being aristocrat.”

[Pipino]

“Hmm, it seems I have found a second friend of mine who managed to do something I have always been much to afraid to do,” she says with a bit of a sad smile, looking back toward Kugane. “I am glad for you that you will have secured freedom for yourself. You are a woman of great courage to let all of it go.”

[A'erina]

Having overcome most of her Sea Sickness on the trip, A'erina stretches out and spits into the bucket she stole from the docks back home and gets up out of her sleeping place and heads up on deck where she notices Pipino and Enyo having a good old fashioned chinwag, bucket in tow she peers into it, almost nothing at all, she smiles proudly to herself and yeets the bucket overboard because it clearly reeked of vomit. Forgetting to do her hair before going on deck, she looked just like someone who had woken up 5 minutes ago, scruffy looking loose clothes and windswept bed hair, hardly the look of someone who values her self image. She headed on over to Pipino and Enyo and squeezed in between them as she threw her arms around both of them ” G'morning you two, what we looking at, huh? Whole lotta water still… Oh now I see it. That your Kugane place Enyo?” Her eyes squinting and her nose scrunched up as she looks at the buildings on the horizon.

[Enyo]

“Its far from morning,” She laughed, “Once we get closer, then it wont seem so small. The city is a port city, only city opened to travelers. My family main residence is in the captial, but over the Bakufu provided me an apartment in the Kugane area to work with the consulates.” She shrugged. “Since I traveled so much, my home will always be with my family.”

[Luna]

Luna too had managed to overcome her discomfort with the shipride to wander out onto the deck and admire the forthcoming city. She stood near the group, hands on the railing silently taking in the sights. It was unreal to her, having become so accustomed to the Western stylings.

[A'erina]

“ What in the fucking twelve is a Bak-oo-fu and how do I get one?” Laughing at Enyo's use of unfamiliar words. She pulls Enyo closer “ Gimme a hug, you dope, so when do we get the drinks, eh? Eh?” Clearly not risking drinking and having sea sickness at the same time she had not had a drink the entire trip and at this point was drinking tea and other herbal bollocks which was not what she wanted.

[Gair]

If Gair had issues with seasickness, he did not outwardly show them- that or he furtively went crawling to their resident conjurer for a delicate healer's touch. Anticipating the departure, he packed his and Miyuki's things Gust's saddlebags. Whom he leads out from the hold by the reigns out onto the deck to take in the sight of the distant eastern city.

[Pipino]

Pipino blushed deepy and tensed as A'erina put her arm around her but did not make a move to escape her clutches. “Would it not be a better idea to take in the city while properly sober before getting absolutely blown away by spirits to the point you cannot appreciate things? Your priorities seem a little haphazard.”

[A'erina]

“Nonsense, Lil' Pip! How about we get drinks, take in the sights WHILST drinking, that way, we all win, eh?” she chuckles heartily, “ Ain't one for your fancy painting stuff though. Drink first, other stuff later, thats my priority. Can't have fun while sober, you appreciate it more if you have a bit o' ale in yer.” Letting go of Enyo and Pipino, she notices Gair the Mule, “ G'morning, Gair!” she offers him a small wave before stretching and continuing to stand with the rest of the rabble she calls friends.

[Pipino]

“Either way, I have heard that the spirits in these parts are much stronger so I would take caution,” she said with a sigh, her body folded into itself as she awkwardly endured A'erina's familiarity.

[Tadashi]

Laughing at his companions he remarks “You all are plenty spirited enough! Don't get into too much trouble while you are here.” Then, he turns to his pack, shoulders his gear, checks that his katana is fastened to his side, and then prepares for their arrival

[Enyo]

The ship crept to a crawl as it made it's way to the pier. The active city bustled about with trade. The building spiraled up toward the sky, and the backdrop of the arching structure of the castle loomed over everything.

[Tadashi]

Slipping out onto the dock, the lalafel immediately hails a Kojin and seeks passage to the Ruby Sea.

[Luna]

The knight emerges from the belowdeck, wearing cloth concealing light platemail under her clothes. Her sword and shield fastened, she checks them to be sure before walking off the deck and onto the pier, taking in the sights, a clearcut tourist. She begins to walk down towards the city proper, unsure of where to go first.

[Gair]

Gair reaches under Gust's wing and gives the chocobo an affectionate scritch. Illiciting a contented, “Kweh!” from the large birb. Much like a dog getting their belly scratched, his large leg begins to wheel and kick lightly down at the deck.

[Enyo]

Upon stepping onto the pier of Kugane, twins around their 4th or 5th winter, ran up to Enyo shrilling in excitement “Obasan!” They cried out nearly tackling her. Dropping to her knees to embrace the children. In heavy Hingashi accent, the girl spoke to Enyo in Eorzean. “Auntie Enyo, did you bring present from your trip?” As the girl clung around Enyo neck. The boy jumped onto her back, “Of course she did! She always brings presents!” He said excitedly.

Enyo laughed at the two, kissing her niece on the head before standing with both children in tow. Making her way over to a man dress in traditional samurai attire, and a petite well dress lady next to him. Behind the couple was a Au'Ra male, dressed in a custom fashion of a house butler/servant. He moved to collect Enyo belonging as she had conversation between the couple, while waiting for the party to join for proper introduction.

[Gair]

At the sight of Enyo being pretty damn good with her nieces, Gair lets out a chuckle on his approach. “I should bring the kittens by Limsa sometime, clearly, *auntie* Enyo.” Bringing Gust in tow, in spite of his possibly imposing height of seventeen hands high at the withers. He is an otherwise dopey and cute bird that stands at attention, his head tilting at the sight of new people. The highlander observes the well dressed woman and her retinue, addressing each in turn. “Miss, goodman, ladies.”

[Miyuki]

Upon catching sight of the approaching dock, Miyuki had shimmied down the mast from the crow's nest more hastily than perhaps was safe, but her excitement at seeing the familiar eastern architecture was clear. After making sure all their belongings were stashed away in Gust's saddlebags, she turns towards the unfamiliar group of people and bends at the waist, bowing in greeting. “Hello, it's nice to meet you all.

[Pipino]

As the boat approached the bustling port, Pipino was practically vibrating with excitement, her usually staid expression painted with that of a much less gaurded woman who wore her heart much more prominently on her sleeve. As soon as it was possible to alright from the ship, she did, carrying her smaller suitcase easily, her head darting up and around the city to take in the impressive displays the skyline had for her. A strange toungue washed around her, and she felt wrongly dressed for probably the first time in her life as she noted the fashions.

Pipino floated over as if in a daydream to the rest of the group, her attention still a bit distracted by the feast of visual wonders surrounding her, but she offerered a polite curtsy to them. “It is a true pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

[Luna]

Luna caught up with Enyo and her clingers-on, her usual cold expression slightly warped into a smile, though not by much.

[Enyo]

“This is my brother Souta, and his wife Jyn, and these two,” tickling the little girl sending the girl into a giggle fit. “Are Saori and Satomi.” The boy began to reach out to Gair’s chocobo, nearly whining wanting to pet it. His mother laughed as she collected the boy from Enyo's shoulders.

“Welcome to my home away from home.” Still holding onto the girl but gesturing to the city. “Our family vacation estate is here, but right now Souta and Jyn are using it as residency, our main estate is in the capitol.” Souta said something to Enyo in native hingan language, she nodded. “He says the arrangement made at the Inn be ready, if you all want to follow. We can take a look at the city, and “beaming with excitement,”And a hot springs!” She ascended up the pier main connection to the city, doting on her niece in her hands.

“This is the Ofunakura, some of the smaller ships are made in the base,” looking upward, “and an airship landing is at the top.”

[Luna]

Luna follows the group, muttering to herself trying to pronounce these difficult eastern words. “A-ah… Ah…Foon… Nack? Er… Rah?” she muses under her breath. “Oaf Foon Nuh Ack Err Uh…”

[Pipino]

Pipino's face glows at the mention of the hot springs, not expecting to have the opporunity so soon. “The hot springs would be a divine gift after such a long trip,” she sighs longingly. She follows the group, ocean-blue eyes hungrily washing over the sights.

[A'erina]

A'erina follows the group from the rear, looking at the buildings for a short spell before pulling out one of her vials and drinking it all, giving a cold look to the group should any of them happen to look at her as she took it, as she didnt quite enjoy taking it infront of everyone and chose to do so privately more often than not, unfortunately privacy was not an option so turning away from the group was the next best thing. She popped the empty vial back into her satchel and gave a quick count to the remaining few to make sure she had packed enough, which she had, a faint smile across her mouth at the relief that she had. She drags her stuff a bit closer to listen in on the kerfuffle going on infront of her.

[Gair]

Gair inclines his head and offers an introduction in turn, “Gair, and this here's Gust.” He reaches up to give some attention to the big black chobo, scritching him right under the beak. Leading it by the reigns still whether or not they depart to another smaller ship or onto solid ground. Noticing the the child who'd wished to pet his mount, he offers sidelong. “Your boy can sit up in the saddle if he likes, Gust's good with kids.”

[Enyo]

Jyn looked to Satomi who was beaming in absolute delight being able to ride on the saddle of the black chobo. “Please Mommy.”He begged, she moved to set the boy on the saddle. In her thick accent, she thanked Gair.

“I do hope you enjoy our hot springs, they share location to Inn, and quiet relaxing. Oh! It overlooks the bay.” She explained, but lightly chuckling. She continued down the stairs in front of the building, looking back to make sure Gust did not have any issues with the city. “Sorry Gair, our city is littered with steps, and stairs. However, there should be able to store Gust in the stables near the inn.” Waiting for everyone to make it down, nodding toward the markets, “This is one of the favored trade for outsiders, Kugane Dori.”

She continued onward over the bridge to the main plaza. Motion to the others as they made their way across, nodding toward the massive building in the center, “That is Shiokaze Hostelry, great drinks, great food.” she turned to other with a grin before continuing. Walking past many pop up shops in the plaza.

[Gair]

Gair steps over to quickly make sure the lad has a firm hold, his hand clapping on the pommel of the saddle to show him where to hold onto. “Ever seen a horsebird, son? Just relax, he's a good boy.” Continuing to lead the chocobo, he explains for the child's benefit. “He's from the cold north in Dravania, could take flight into the harbor if he wanted!”

At the mention of any difficulty or steps and stairs. “Ahh, well I appreciate it, but Horsebirds don't mind steps as much as their four-legged cousins. Besides, he's itching for a walk.”

[Luna]

Luna follows along the group like an oversized tourist, trying to pronounce these crazy foreign words to herself, having tremendous difficulty. “Koo-gain-ee Door-ee…. Door-ee… Ah, that's… Shy-oh-zack-ee? Oh my, Shy-oh-zack-ee Hoh-ster-lrr-ee? Fury save me, this is absurd…” she says.

[Pipino]

Pipino finds herself only briefly taking in the information before her eye gets caught by various distractions: an interesting combination of colors contrasted in an unexpected way - the beautiful symmetry in latticed windows - the overwhelming scale of the large ropes from which beautiful lanterns of soft light hung. The gentle slope of roofs meeting beams. The tiered buildings stacked up seemingly on top of each other in a way where each one could shine. The gold and red being supported by the blue of the sea and the sky. And the calligraphy - breathtaking and beautiful. Many times she found herself stuck staring and found herself having to jog to catch up to the group, nearly losing them a couple times.

“Everything is just…breathtaking to be honest. I find it difficult to find the words to describe how it strange it is to be here at last.”

[Luto]

Luto actively trying to keep up with the group and constantly being stopped by native on lookers being seemingly awestruck of a Hrothgar. “Excuse me pleas..” dodging his way through people trying to see, touch, and speak to him, as he watches his group get a little further away “A little help!” He calls out to the others.

[Gair]

Noticing Lutomis having trouble, Gair does not physically intervene. “At least you're not a Miqo'te lass, you'd have a dozen suitors, there!” He roars out a laugh and throws some metaphorical oil on the fire. “I wonder if the Hingashi know it's good luck to rub a Hrothgar nose?”

[Luto]

At Gair's little commit and looking at the people “Try it and ill bite it off.”

[Gair]

Gair looks sidelong to Miyuki in tow, a mischevious grin offered to the woman as he murmurs quietly to her. “I'ma do it later.”

[Enyo]

Waiting for the group to rejoin in the central plaza, watching Gair and Luto, over hearing the conversation. “Don't give them any ideas, or Luto maybe tied down and provided belly rubs all day.” She laughed.

Turning her attention to Luna, “Hos-tel-ree, it's many things, an Inn, bar, tavern, meeting place.”

[Gair]

“It's like a barracks but for regular people, cheaper than an inn most times since they're communal.” Gair explains to Luna.

[Luna] The knight follows Enyo as she enunciates Hostelry, feeling a bit embarrassed. “O-oh, of course! Hos-tel-ree…” she repeats, getting it right for now thanks to the guidance. She looks over at Gair as he explains what it is. “I see. That is a very smart concept, surely we have some of those back west? I can not say I've ever seen one, but maybe I just overlooked it…” she muses.

[Hadrian]

Spying the mismatched party of tourists passing loudly by the hostelry the slender Elezen quickly finishes his drink and gets to his feet, hand on his katana to keep it from swinging about. With an affable nod and the sound of gil hitting the counter he quickly exits the open building and enters the plaza filled with people. His tall height allowing him to easily see over the heads of the crowd he deftly avoids the swirling commotion around Luto, guiding himself towards the group making their way through the plaza grounds.

Wearing a pure white jin-baori that came down to just above the knee with some kind of bird insignia in gold on the back, the multilayered armor doing nothing to make him look anything other than tall and a bit lanky the Elezen approaches, raising his hand in greeting “Ho! Eorzeans!” He exclaims, still a dozen feet off to catch their attention. As he nears closer, other hand still lightly resting on the hilt of his katana, obviously to keep it out of the way rather than to actually draw he pauses a polite distance before bowing slightly, back straight and head down in a traditional greeting of one being a minor inconvenience to another. “Pardon, but you are Eorzeans yes?” He asked, his voice softer than one might expect. Though his garb was clearly far eastern in theme, weapons included, he stood tall with the casual arrogance only one born in Ishgard could manage without effort, and as if to draw attention to the fact that he too was Eorzean he had a small patch sewn onto the arm of his armor, the shield and 4 house insignia of Ishgard.

[Luna]

Luna turns her head towards the newcomer, eyeing his hand on the hilt of his blade. She immediately steps forward from the group, her own hand moving to the pommel of her sword, prepared to defend the whole group. She begins to assess the man, up and down, her eyes stopping on the Ishgardian crest for a moment. “It is true, we hail from Eorzea. Much as you do. You are just as far from home as I, it would seem. What would you want with our party?” she asks firmly, her eyes now resting on the man's katana, waiting for him to draw. She too wears a crest of the Holy See on the breast of her tabard and her weapon's ornate design further betrays her allegiance.

[Hadrian]

The man shifted his eyes, taking note of the Hyurs weapon and crest. “Stalwart and ready as ever I see. Always a pleasure Ser Knight, I beg you do not misunderstand my intentions.” He says, speaking in a friendly, familiar way even though the two have never met before. He removes his hand from his sword, standing up straighter before dipping into a more elaborate Ishgardian bow, leg extending back and arm sweeping down in front before righting himself again. “Hadrian Waurd, Temple Knight of Ishgard, Captain of the Golden Crane at your service, and I certainly mean no harm to you or yours.” After noting the defensive posture his stance settles back into a relaxed pose, weight shifted to the back of his heels, hand no longer resting on his sword hilt. “It’s been a long while since I’ve spied Eorzean travelers through here, I simply seek information from home. In exchange I had hoped to offer any assistance you may need in regards to local vistas. I hope I do not presume too much in assuming this is your first time to Kugane? Newcomers always have a certain look to them, tis a truly beautiful city.”

[Luna]

As the man removes his hand from his weapon, so too does Luna. Her stance relaxes from one prepared to fight to a proper knightly one, tall and proud. “You are much and farther from the stone walls of Ishgard, Ser Knight.” she responds, watching him relax his own posture. “I see your time away has eroded your training. I do not envy the pain of such an issue. As he bows, she too returns the bow. “Well met, Sir Hadrian. I am Luna Luxlight, also Temple Knight of Ishgard, currently serving.” she adds proudly.

“It is full well you bare no ill will towards my charges, for I do not suffer such malfeasances.” she assures. “I suppose we do stick out considerably in such an Eastern land as this, yes. As for information, I do not claim to be an expert on the realm, but if there is something you wish to know and I can help, I will gladly do so.”

[Hadrian]

“It’s true that perhaps my time away from Ishgard has given me a more relaxed perspective of things, but I assure you I’ve not laxed in my training.” His voice grows serious, expression hardening for a moment at the perceived minor insult. “Tis neither here nor there at this moment however!” He continues, voice growing excited. “I would know what news from Ishgard you may bring? How fares the city? What of the land? Does it still snow incessantly? Do the Dravanians continue to throw themselves against our blades? What of the Knights? Does Ser Aymeric still lead?” These and a dozen other questions pop up in his head as he blurts them out in no particular order of importance before reining himself back in and composing himself. “I’m sorry I’m being terribly rude, barrating you in the middle of the plaza like this. It would be my honor if I could offer you and yours refreshments, if you’ve the time.” He says this last as a question. He tilts his head to take in the rest of the party as well, his attention having been focused on Luna till now he finally notes the knights companions in more detail and realizes he may have interrupted them in transit on more important business.

[Enyo]

Spinning her niece as the girl turned into a giggle fit, Enyo brother collected the boy from Gair's chocobo. Handing over Saori to Jyn, before bidding them farewells as the ascended up the stairs in an opposite direction of the party.

Turning her attention back to the part amusing that Luna would befriend a traveler in Kugane. Overhearing the introduction between the two. Picking up the heavier version of her Eorzean accent due to switching between the two languages. “Picking up strangers now Lady Luna.” She mused, before proudly introducing herself, “Enyo of the Aketsuki family, current seated Consulate Liaison for the Bafuku” offering a bow custom to the eastern traditions. “I must say, we do see variety of travelers through our city, however rarely do we see Ishgarians, or” turning her attention to Lutomis,”a Hrothgar. I did plan a meal this evening in the Hostelry, if you care to join us.”

[Pipino]

Pipino's eyes moved skyward as she took in the Ishgardian man's appearance. She could not help but feel her eyes roll a little bit as Luna immediately challenges what seemed like a very sociable man who simply needed some connection to his homeland, but she politely waited for the situation to diffuse itself and for time to make an introduction as well. She smiled at the Elezen's deluge of questions, happy to see that at least this Ishgardian did not hold as much ice in his veins.

“Well then, I do not see why we cannot stop our tour and engage in a bit of frivolity. I know this stop on our trip would very much align with A'erina's itinerary and priorities,” she said with a smirk, giving a A'erina a teasing look. She directed her gaze back to Hadrian. “If you would have us, I have no objections to staying awhile with a fellow Eorzean. My artist's fingers are a little bit antsy to start drawing nearly everything my eye can behold, but I imagine delaying my gratification will do me no harm.” She gave him her usual curtsy, glad that she did not have to try and employ the more awkward Eastern style of formality she had been observing just yet, never liking to look the fool.

“I am Pipino Pino, an artist in residence in Ul'dah. It is a true pleasure to meet another Eorzean so soon in our travels.”

[A'erina]

A'erina placed her hand on her chest, ” And here I thought you didn't care about me, Pip. “ She says with some sarcasm, “It's nice to see someone who appreciates my own form of art.” she adjusts her satchels strap a little, as she looks about, ” Hard to tell which of these establishments gots what, though. No matter, drink is drink, right? Hopefully we can get just plain ol' Ale here, None of this fancy eastern stuff, does nothing for my palette.“ licking her lips, the thought of wetting her whistle after being sober for the entire journey here. ”

She decides that she best introduce herself to the Elezen who had seemingly taken a shining to the band of misfits, “ Name's A'erina, Mixologist and Hunter, Nice to meet you, Dhalmel.”

[Luna]

The knightess finds herself surprised by the onslaught of questions, though she does not show it outwardly. “I will answer your questions one at a time ere I gloss over something vital.” she says, taking a moment to think as her comrades talk to the man. She waits for a lull in the conversation once more before speaking again. “Judging by your comment on the Dravanians, I am to assume you left Ishgard some time ago, and thus my responses reflect as such. First off - Rejoice Sir Hadrian! The Dragonsong War has ended some years ago!” she says proudly and joyfully. “While the exact details are a mystery to myself, it would seem the Azure Dragoon himself was instrumental. It is a story of considerable drama, and one I will gladly recount for you another time as to do so now would surely bring us to dusk.” she says, pausing on thought.

“Ishgard and Coerthas itself still find themselves under constant cloak of frost and snow. It would seem the events of the calamity still graces our land with the stark white ash of our own failures.” she says with some sorrow. “As far as the city itself, it is on the rise. Work now commences on the restoration of the Firmament, seemingly set to add more livable quarters to the populace and even some outsiders. The Gates of Judgment have been unlocked, it would seem. We now allow those not of Ishgard to come and go as they please, and it has been no small boon to the city. The city at large is receptive to this turn, though some folk are very reticent to change. You may remember the Heavens Ward that served Thordan VIII directly. It would seem a plot was uncovered within their ranks and they, along with Thordan VIII, were violently removed from this mortal coil. In Thordan's place, however, now resides Ser Aymeric himself!” she says, quite happily.

[Gair]

A touch contented to hang back for the moment and watch the two Ishgardians converse, he was busying himself with his chocobo and checking his things. Half-armoring himself now in the harness of a flame elite, the burnished golden scales on his pauldron betraying exactly his place of origin. As a reward for for the chocobo's helpfulness, he presents a krakka root that gets munched down with little fanfare.

Finally dragging himself to the front for an introduction, his own eyes meeting Hadrian's head on. A respected nod of the head is offered as he tells the man. “Gair, a Flame that's very far from home. Let's hope the Ruby Sea doesn't extinguish me in my time here, eh?”

[Hadrian]

Hadrian smiles at the introductions, meeting the gazes of each before replying with a polite, “At your service” or “A pleasure to meet you.” While also giving both Pipino and Enyo a bow in return. He listens to Luna quickly describing the events in response to his questions, his face clearly showing the shock that such news brings. “Tis indeed true it has been a long while since I’ve been back home, coming on 6 years now I believe. It seems much and more has changed, that Ishgard has opened its gates and the Archbishop!” He says in modest disbelief, his face troubled at the news of the Archbishop.

His expression brightens again after a moment, “But we may continue at length after you’ve all been settled, I’m sure a long trip at sea must have been taxing!” He turns, taking a few steps towards the hostelry he’d left a short time before, “The Shiokaze Hostelry I think will meet any needs you may have.” He says towards A’erina. “Come friends, food and drink awaits!”

Turning towards Gair he asks “Sir Flame, does your chocobo require an attendant? I would hate for one to run off with such a fine creature or for any harm to come to it, should someone in their ignorance mistake it for a monster.” He pauses, “And erm… Is he a member of your party as well?” He makes a gesture towards Luto, “If so he is most welcome too of course should he be able to untangle himself from the locals.”

[Gair]

Gair's grip laxes on his reigns and shakes his head at Hadrian, clarifying firstly, “Just Aard if it pleases ya, 'sir' is a title that belonged to my father.” At the mention of the chocobo's potential fate, he shrugs and finds a simple post outside the hostelry to hitch his bird off on. “And fret not about Gust here, he's wise enough to make a snack out of anyone who tries to nick him.” A hand reaches up to rub that massive beak of his. “He's been cooped up on his arse on the boat, I doubt he'd stay put in a stable anyway.”

```“Wark, wark!” Gust stretches to the fullest extent his long and powerful legs will let him, from talons to beak he easily towers nearly ten feet tall when stretched out of his normal posture. Some of his downy feathers shed when he tests his modest wingspan and gives them a little flutter.```
[Enyo]
(We can fade this to Grey for the Drinks, then continue at a dinner esque meet up.)
[Pipino]
Pipino smiles as Hadrian acknowledges her introduction. Having listened to his and Luna's conversation thus far, she finds she cannot resist inquiring about his situation. “Away from home for six years…why, the Calamity is nearer to the date you were last in Eorzea than Taday. I could not imagine having left home for so long!”
[Luna]
(I say we fast forward to dinner. So @Virgil can post from there if he likes)
