Episode Occidens - 7/24/19

[Gair]

In the days that pass and information is exchanged via linkpearl, there are avenues open to those of you who wish to dedicate effort to downtime activities. Maybe you wish to procure specific supplies, do recon on the target, gather information or simple bribery? Any way you can think of your character to contribute their skills and connections to the effort in preparation. So that way we have a running tally of what people “bring” to stage the capture of an Imperial engineer, or the larger assault at hand on the Castrum.
WHAT DO YOU DO?

[Luna]

Luna spends time preparing more durable bandaging for her left arm as well as going over logistics with Gair and Akiko.

[A'erina]

Aerina spent some of her time making a couple of potions informing the group via linkpearl that she has prepared sleeping potions that may prove useful. Also of note she had a few trade deals to make and somehow ended up with a crate of ale and drank most of it and was passed out for a large amount of time.

[Xany]

Xany spends his time preparing his equipment and discussing some plans with his fellow mercenary's that owe him favors to start a diversion of hit and run, while we proceed with our own plans. and also informs Gair of this through link pearl.

[Akiko]

Aboard the Kurokaze, Akiko sharpens her own weapons, making sure things are ready for battle behind scenes that nobody else is aware of at the time. Using her contacts, she gets a hold of a crate of healing potions for a decent price for the upcoming fight, as well as some extra medical supplies for after since more then likely her ship will be the safe house the retreat too after, unless they are being chased, in which it won't she has made clear as she does not wish for her ship to be on the Garlean's hit list.

[Gair]

For the logistics work between Luna, Akiko and Gair: you know that Castrum Occidens is occupied by a century (100) of imperial personnel led by a one Centurion Aurelius. Forty of said century are mixed unit ground troops, ranging from mid-range officers to conscripted auxilarys, to operators of heavier armor. You have deduced that there are at least two suits of operable Magitek Armor at their disposal with other lesser automata, turrets, claws but *no* Colossi. Of the remaining sixty men, you can deduce that at least half are non-essential unskilled laborers. Twenty are operators of heavy machinery, of which there is much. And finally, the last ten are engineers and scientists.
Aerina's efforts to provide materials and sleeping potions has effectively slashed the prices of Akiko's procurement. Allowing her to attain a cache of three “Hi-potions” per combatant. And for the sleep potions, the imperial response time in the case of discovery will be severely hindered.
Through Akiko's effort to position her ship properly as a fallback, the party has a safe getaway in the event they reach the treeline outside the Castrum.
Miyuki's conjury in addition to Gair's own convalescence has seen his arm healed and ready for the fight.
Through Xany's mercenary connections and some coin, the initial standing guard will be cut down by 1/4 but the base will be on alert.

[Enyo]

Remaining quiet on the linkpearl, Enyo sitting in The Bismarck, thumbing through one of the full journals she brought with her, in hopes there would be some other information she could provide the party with.

[Luna]

SCENE BEGIN

Luna boards the Kurokaze as it's docked, looking around for Akiko. She has brought a bag with her slung over her right shoulder, her left arm in heavy bandages. Her head turns as she searches. “Miss Akiko? Are you around?” She asks loudly.

[Akiko]

The larger ship of eastern design seemed fairly empty, a few people relaxing on her deck, or fishing from the side. What would one expect with a ship docked in port for a time outside Costa Del Sol, people were enjoying themselves. One young man notices Luna as she calls out and steps over the her, black hair trimmed short and wearing a white haori and hakama. He gives Luna an eastern bow in greeting before saying “Good morning, you must be Miss Luna. The captain told us to be expecting guests.” He motions towards the far cabin on the ship that that is where Akiko currently is.

[Luna]

Luna bows back politely, though in a western manner. “Aye, that I am. Thank you.” she said, following the fellow's instructions to head over to the far cabin. Her head turned to look at the merriment, a small smile crossing her face.

[Akiko]

The deck of the Kurokaze is mostly flat and empty, save for a number of crates and barrels here or there. On one end of the boat there are two cabins, each with an eastern style rice paper bamboo door covering the entrance, decorated with a cherry blossom tree and it's petals flowing in the wind. Inside, upon hearing someone approach the door (and able to see the shadow through the rice paper) Akiko smiles as she says “Come in.”

[Luna]

She nods her head and enters carefully, not used to such doors. “Miss Akiko, I come with a couple questions about some materials. You said you had access to weapons and armors…” she says politely. “I was wondering if you had a surplus of some more hard to find metals… and…” she pauses, “Some nice cloth.” she says quickly, a bit embarrased.

[Akiko]

As the door opens, the room inside comes into view. Tatami mats cover the floor from wall to wall, with a number of decorations and artwork hanging from the walls themselves. Bookshelves sit in one corner, while on another side sits a half-circle wooden desk and chair, a bit out of place in such an eastern stylized room. Behind the desk is a small bed and desk, and behind a painted rice paper partition the glimpse of a bath is seen. Not what one might expect of captain's quarters on a ship, that is for sure. Akiko is sitting at a small table to the side, legs vanished under a heavy blanket that surrounds the table, a cup of tea in her hands “Ah, Luna. Good day.” She says, before listening to the requests. “Hmmm, metals and cloth. Well, I do have some silk still from a merchant who for some reason disappeared before our transaction was complete. As for metals, what are you looking for in particular? I normally do not deal in raw metals, typically only finished products.”

[Luna]

Luna looks around at the unfamiliar furnishings, a bit overwhelmed. “I… right, I honestly do not know enough metals or metallurgy to know what makes proper armor. I was hoping for something durable and silver, to be plain. As for cloth…. Silk sounds fine. I'm… I'm hoping to make a cape.” she says, struggling to say it as if it were childish.

[Akiko]

Akiko offers a soft, friendly smile at the slight stuttering of the woman. “Well, if it is meant for fighting, silk probably is not the best. It is expensive normally, and once torn never looks right again if you repair it. If you want the cape for more social purposes, then that would be perfectly fine.” She hmms for a moment, taking a drink of the dark green tea in her hands. “For metal, well there is a number of types you could use. Mythril I hear is a good one, hard and silvery as you are looking for. Or Mythrite, which I believe can be found in your homeland.” Setting the now empty cup down, she moves from underneath the table and blanket to stand, going over to the desk and rummaging around it for a moment.

[Luna]

The knight puts a hand to her chin, thinking. “The cape… I suppose social purposes would be the correct term. As for the armor… How easy is it to work with Mythril or Mythrite? I daren't try myself, but I've a friendly metallurgist back in Foundation who will help me out for a bit of coin.” she says plainly.

[Akiko]

Akiko shakes her head a bit, strands of hair falling out of place “I would not know sadly on how easy or hard it is to work with. I am not a smith either. Ah, here we go.” She says as she pulls a stack of notes from one drawer, flipping through them for a moment before stopping on one. “Yes, I thought so. A merchant in Limsa Lominsa owes me a favor, and they tend to deal with metals in large orders, such as for the Grand companies.” She takes a fresh piece of parchment out and take her quill, writing down another note. “If you take this to him, he will be able to help with your metal, as well as possibly be able to tell you more.”

[Luna]

Luna watches the woman write down a note, receiving the paper in turn. “A favor, huh? Thank you very much, Miss Akiko. I hate to ask of you to burn a favor, but this metal shall go a long way toward our Castrum Occidens operation. As for the silk, I don't suppose you know where I can get 3 or 4 bolts?” she asked politely, tucking the note away in a pocket.

[Akiko]

“Hiro, come in here” Akiko calls to the door, where a boy hurridly opens it, looking as if he had just been caught. “I…I didn't….I was curio….” He stammers a bit, but Akiko smiles “No harm Hiro. Can you go let your mother know we will be needing some of the extra silk. You already heard Miss Luna on how much she needed, right?” The boy nods and smiles, then rushes off, closing the door behind him.

[Luna]

The knight watches the boy curiously, a slight bit of confusion on her own features. “You seem to have quite the run of the ship here, Miss Akiko. I've never seen one run quite like this.” she remarks curiously.

[Akiko]

Akiko nods lightly, watching the door close “The Kurokaze is more then just a ship. For many, it is our home. A number of the people here lost their homes during the occupation of Doma, and it was too painful to stay and try to rebuild. So instead, they joined me, and are happy to be able to see so much of the world as well as have a place to belong.” She says, smiling all the while.

[Luna]

“I see. I can't say I'd heard of this 'Occupation of Doh-mah', but then I'm not very learned about anything to do with the East. Until recently, I didn't really even know about this… Shee-roh gain.” she says, still trying to grasp the pronunciation. “It's good to hear of such a tight knit crew, however. Well done.” she adds.

[Akiko]

Akiko gives a soft chuckle, then shakes her head, looking to Luna “I see. It is when the Empire took control over my homeland, much like they have been trying to do with your Eorzea for years now. They killed any who spoke out, and most just because.” She moves back over to the table and pours the green tea into her own cup, and one more, placing it on the opposite side for Luna.

[Luna]

“The Empire…” she says under her breath, clapping her right hand onto her left arm, remembering the attack that lost her the use of said arm. “As much a threat in the east as the west, naturally.” She added, trying to bring herself back to her politer senses.

[Akiko]

Motioning one hand for Luna to take a seat on the cushion and offering the cup of tea, Akiko sets the teapot back down and sips her own for a moment “Less so now, now that Doma is free thanks to the aide of a number off people who drove them off. But they are still always a threat unless more is done, more then one person alone can do.”

[Luna]

Luna sits though she politely refuses the tea. “Well that is some light in the gloom, at least. Ishgard was similarly freed from the clutches of a mad leader ourselves almost not too long ago. Were it a lark to think the savior the same person.” she joked.

[Akiko]

Akiko gives another light nod as she sips her tea. “One person, saving the world. It does not sound right. And if true, one person with that much power could turn out just as bad as the Empire if not kept in check somehow.”

[Luna]

The knight thought for a moment before speaking. “Perhaps, but it is an admirable thing to do nonetheless. Were I to have the strength to do that much alone, I likely would as well.”

[Akiko]

A knock comes at the doorway and the door slides open, the young boy standing there holding a folded bundle “I brought the silk.” He said, moving to the table and setting it down as if it was glass in front of Luna, his eyes looking at her with curiosity for a moment. “Thank you.”

[Luna]

Luna nods her head at the boy, thanking him. “Thank you kindly, sir.” she says politely, noticing his gaze. “Is there aught I can do for you? Something seems to be on your mind about me?” she asks, putting a hand on her hip.

[Akiko]

The boy shakes his head, takes a step back and offers a bow before rushing out, closing the door behind him. Akiko gives a soft laugh behind one hand “He meant no harm. Hiro doesn't leave the ship much, so he does not get to interact with others often.”

[Luna]

The knight laughs a bit, smiling. “I imagine the sight of a strong Ishgardian knight might be a bit much to someone who doesn't come around Coerthas often.” she jokes. “It's not a problem.”

[Akiko]

Akiko offers a smile and nods, then motions a slender hand to the bundle “That should be enough silk for a cape, and perhaps extra for the tailor themselves to use as they see fit.”

[Luna]

“Thank you, I'll make good use of it. Thank you kindly.” Luna says, picking up the bundle. “I'll be sure to run by your merchant friend in Limsa. Those materials will be very handy for our fated operation.” she says, putting a hand up as she goes to leave. “Take care, Miss Akiko.”

[Akiko]

Akiko offers a bow from her seat “And to you as well.” She says as the woman heads out, the teacup coming up to her lips as she takes a sip. “I have my own preparations to make for the operation.” She says to the now empty room.

SCENE END

[Gair]

A crackle over the collective linkshell and a vacant voice speaks- “Wineport, nightfall.”

The assault on Occidens was hell on earth for the Imperial forces, though it did come at a cost. The frontliners having quite a bit less blood and touch more lead in their bodies. The interior of Occidens laid bare as non-essential personnel duck and hide in corridors and lock themselves in the odd closet and barracks room, hoping to their nonexistent gods that these supposed savages do not have designs for them.

[Akiko]

A shadow flits through the corridors, moving from room to room as she searches for the third and final target. There, along with another man behind the glass was an older man, an engineer, one Akiko knew and one who, upon seeing her, knew that death had come. The door wasn't difficult to open, as the ninja stepped in, now holding the katana she had procured from the soldier outside.

“So, you finally came for me. I knew you would after you killed my son.” The old man said, not so much afraid, but accepting, as the other engineer huddled in a corner to make himself small. “Hai, it is your time as well…..grandfather.” And with that, she slices his throat clean open with a single slash, letting the older man bleed out on the floor as she drops the katana and scabbard, not caring for keeping the blade any longer. “When others come looking for you, I suggest you cooperate with them.” She says passingly to the other man before heading back out to the hall and out another exit, back to the awaiting ship to prepare.

[Scene End for Akiko]

[Enyo]

With everyone searching for an engineer, Enyo double checks no one is around, and walks over to the disabled magitech armor. Ripping off a small panel and rummaging through the guts, pulling out a small board, stashing it into her satchel. Again, she checks to make sure no one is around before heading back to the gate. Finding her newly acquired gunblade still there, she then plops down on the ground next to it. Removing what was a wrapped piece of cake, now smooshed, and enjoys it while waiting for everyone.

[Gair]

Having procured the metaphorical keys to the castle off of the Centurion's body, Gair tosses a rather large ring of Garlean style keycards toward Luna. “Come, paladin.” He beckons, the first steps he takes into the inner sanctum of the Castrum has virtually all non-combat personnel running for the hills and hiding from them in the odd closet and huddled under furniture.

“We need a map of this library…” Rumbles the highlander with an uncharacteristically imperious tone. He would step into what is a smaller break room, the pantry, fridge and table can be heard sniffling and crying. A heavy boot sends the table crashing over with a terrified man curled up beneath it. “No, please, NO! MERCY!” To which Gair just snatches him by the collar of his uniform. “Then tell us where to find your scholars.” And with their new Garlean GPS that he drags behind him across the slick steel floor, he joins Luna.

[Luna]

Luna fumbles the catch, bending over to pick up the card ring. “I've only the one arm you know…” she protests before following him inside. She looks at the din of chaos from the remaining non-combatants. It must be a veritable scene of horror to see a giant hulking Ala Mhigan almost possessed, as well as a Paladin covered in blade. She watches Gair pop off into a side room, hearing the clamor as he shortly emerges with a prisoner. “Surely that is not the sort of engineer we need.” she says plainly, unsure of his use.

[Gair]

Gair looks to the blubbering mess of man he drags along, a shake of his head offered toward Luna. “I've my doubts this one even knows how to read.” To which the unfortunate sod replies almost immediately. “I-I know how to read, really well! *Please don't kill me*.” After a pause he hastens to make himself useful. “I-I cleaned the manufactuary a few times, it's in the west wing of the Castrum!” To which Gair can only snort. “Cute, a broom pusher who can read.”

[Luna]

The knightess casts her gaze on the hostage, scowling as Gair implies the man may not be able to read. However his quick protests to the contrary turn her scowl neutral once more. “The Manufactuary you say? That should be exactly what we're looking for. Do show us the way.” She pauses at Gair's comment. “Surely it's not that uncommon, you knew how to read when we met and neither of us were unfamiliar with said broom pushing.”

[Gair]

Gair more or less has the Imperial by the collar as he walks them through a winding twist of halls, the odd door requiring the keycard at several junctures. “A-at once! A-and what of the Centurion… and us?” The Imperial asks, his tone hopeful. Though the highlander just rumbles about nonsense as they walk. “Not everyone in the Brume was fortunate enough to have guardians who could read.. or the Scholasticate at their disposal. Or did you forget books are a luxury of lordings and ladies?”

[Luna]

“Your vile leader is no more. He has been put down like the diseased vermin he is.” she says coldly to the hostage. “Should you render aid to us, perhaps you will live to inform your superiors that this realm is not theirs.” she follows up. She glances towards Gair as he speaks. “The Brume?” she asks, her tone turning sour. “Gair… Are you… Not a chance…” she says, turning away as they walk. “You better not be messing with things beyond your understanding.” she says ominously. “The time of books being a luxury is long since gone, anyway. You know that. The scholasticate is as cloistered as ever but there are plenty of avenues to acquire knowledge more appropriate for the common folk.”

[Xany]

Snooping around the castrum motor pool looking at different decommissioned tech armor then he comes across…“wait could it be?” Runs up to his discovery and mounts up “now how do you start?” He asks under his breath and begins hitting different switches and buttons then it rumbles to life with a verbrummm “Haha!” Not knowing a thing about how this motor contraption operates an cranking on the would be theottle “whaaaaaaaaa!” It speeds off with a bawwwwww around the grounds speeding pass several of his party members before losing complete control and riding the front wheel up the side of the wall and completely trashing the vehicle. Amidst the dust of the crash “ I'm ok…” you hear him faintly call out, he pulls himself up and activates his link pearl and before long a few of his merc buddies come in and help carry the wrecked contraption off (End scene for Xany as he carries off his now fucked up prize)

[Gair]

“P-please, I just clean the place up, m-m-most of us are just laborers and porters!” The man blubbers to the paladin levelling threats at him.

Gair's chin lifts, his ear lent to the explanation. With no small amount of skepticism present in his countenance. “Next you'll tell me they've formed a republic and have a house of commons.” His tone incredulous. “And maybe beyond *your* understanding, Paladin. But that's neither here nor there, we are in enemy territory.”

[Luna]

Luna glares at their companion. “The ash on the wind from a funeral pyre cares not if you merely mop the floors. To the dead, all oppressors are the same.” she speaks in icy tongue. She turns her head to Gair, becoming a bit more concerned. “This Dragonsong Wartime fantasy of yours has gone on long enough, Gair. I'm going to be looking at some things in Ishgard when I get back, you're giving me cause for concern.”

[Enyo]

Deciding to wait no longer, Enyo makes her way to the Kurokaze. Regretting the decision of armor, she pulls backs the robe and sees where both the spear and a bullet had ripped through the leathers with ease. Both of them hitting her upper left leg, the healing had caused the bleeding to stop, but the pain of putting weight on it was proving difficult. In addition her left shoulder hurt, and her sleeve on her right arm was ripped open from another bullet that grazed her bicep. Luckily the sword attacks just nicked her. Using the gunblade as a crutch she hobbled the rest of the way.

By the time reaching the ship, her leg was bleeding again. One of the ship hands yells for a medic as she swore to herself in the language native to the steppes. A conjour approached ready with a healing spell, “Don't” she warns the person. Taken aback, the mage steps aside as a field medic approaches from behind the others. She did not want to vomit, not on the ship, and the way she was feeling, the woozie feeling healing does to her would make her lose everything in her stomach. They ushered her down into an area where a couple merchs were being treated already, removing the leather robe leaving her in a thick leather binding across her chest, and leather shorts, with her armored boots. Her left shoulder red around a hole from a bullet, her left leg slowly bleeding from both a gash and another bullet hole. Her right arm right arm had a twisted rip of a cut through her bicep. Fighting against restraining arms that attempted to hold her down as they treated her wounds. The field medic sighed at the drama that Enyo was causing. Pulling a vial down from a shelf with elixirs lining it, “Drink this, it will help with the pain.” hesitating at first, she took a large drink. Before she realized why everything was becoming blurry and that the relief was for sleeping not pain, she slipped into a slumber, allowing the medic to treat her wounds.

(end scene for Enyo)

[Gair]

Gair's chin lifts as he argues over the Garlean as if they were his child now, yanking him over to his left side to keep him out of reach to Luna. “You certainly act as if 'tis no mere fantasy, were this man a tiny wyrmling of dragonblood… would you slaughter him and crush the eggs of his brothers for the actions of their fathers? I mean… the ash on the wind cares not, a dragon's a dragon.” He sneers at Luna, his tone dripping with no small amount of contempt. “How very knightly of you. Have your “look”, just remember you're the only one of us threatening murder.”

“I-I-It's just up this hallway, t-this is the west wing, I promise!” He's probably pissed his pants at the talk of being executed for the crimes of his countrymen. Though fortune favors him today as Gair turns and shoves the man back the way they came, even as he falls flat on his face he cries out. “T-thank you!” And ambles off.

[Luna]

“Were him and his kin actively aiding the war efforts, I would not hesitate to slay a hundred and more.” she says with conviction. “I do not enjoy the slaughter, it is merely what must needs be done.” she adds coldly. She scowls as the man runs off, feeling regret at letting him live, but turning to look at the manufactury as they enter. She's surprised at the extent of machinery and servicemen, not having much cause to see this sort of thing very often.

[Gair]

“How charitable of you to add another boot to their throat, like Garlemald's own isn't heavy enough.” He shoots a sidelong glance at Luna mid-bicker, still alert for any potential danger the deeper they get in. “Should look in a mirror, I'm surprised that third eye hasn't come in yet.” The highlander is otherwise in step with Luna, ready to nab whoever she demands.

[Luna]

She turns her head to face Gair, eyes locked. “Maybe in your foolishness to let some otherworldly force consume your thoughts you've forgotten, but the list of atrocities committed by the Garlean Empire is malms long. If the simple act of pressing a sabaton upon the 'poor and beseiged' Imperial force is all it took to forstall their entire invasion, I would do so until the day I slipped from this very realm.” Her eyes ablaze with silent fury.

[Gair]

Gair roars out an amused laugh and shakes his head, looking as though he has plenty more to say. He ends with a succinct. “Take care that you do not become the monster you hunt.” A gauntleted hand claps the backside of her cuirass as he lifts his chin, looking to a door in the back. “We've prattled enough, paladin. I only prod you out of concern. We've a mission.”

[Luna]

Luna sighs, working to quell the fury inside her. “I am not… Right, right… ” she cuts herself off, determined to settle down. “Are we looking for any specific engineer then?” she says, looking around. She couldn't even begin to pick out a suitable target.

[Gair]

Gair tells Luna as he steps into a side room with more crying furniture. Snatching the odd man up by the scruff of the neck to examine their respective rank. “We thought to grab the one with the most badges on his sleeve… higher rank should know more.” And before long, a sniveling heap of various personnel of differing ranks has been assembled for Luna. “You'll be better at this part.”

[Luna]

She withdraws her sword, pointing it towards the now amassed group. “By divine providence of the Temple Knights of Ishgard, I now control whether you live or die! Your mortality hangs by a thread wrapped around my very blade! One of you will give yourselves up as an informant to the Eorzean Alliance or all shall perish here and now! I will not hesitate to strike!” she says, her voice commanding and frigid. She looks between the assembled servicemen, awaiting their reaction.

[Gair]

Hands are in the air and half a dozen men grovel at Luna's feet as if she were some sort of dominatrix. “P-please, my lady!” One calls out. “Spare us!” Another yelps. “W-what information are you looking for?”

Gair looks sidelong at Luna, watching her lay the demands out. Playing the good cop in this situation, ironically enough. He tells the assembled men with a measured tone, “Hand over your lead scholar, I know not if I can hold back my companion.”

And with that prompt, one of the men tries to dart away- three of the prisoners grabbing him by his uniform and urging him to Luna's feet. “H-he's the Talis Primus!”

[Luna]

Luna places the tip of her blade at the Primus's throat, forcing him to stand. “The Talis Primus, eh? And you would condemn your brothers to death so that you might attempt an escape? Pathetic.” she says, pressing the blade into his neck ever so slightly.

[Gair]

“What a mouthful.” Gair spits on the floor, eyeing the rest of the men for a moment before he barks. “Flee or surrender yourself to the Yellow Jackets, I would suggest the latter. We savages might not be so kind if you're wandering our lands.” And with that, he steps in behind their new prisoner. Wrought iron manacles in hand with a leather lead, he snatches his arms and ratchets them down around his wrists.

The head engineer comes to his feet slowly, utterly at Luna's mercy. Subdued by fear of death and dismemberment. Finding his mettle, he just barks out. “Damned savages, you can't do this!”

After a moment does Gair chime in, holding up the leather lead connected to the man's wrist. “Do you want to walk the dog?”

[Luna]

Luna takes the lead after sheathing her blade. She turns to the Primus, scowling. “I would invite you to try otherwise.” She turns back to Gair, following in his step. “Let us take our leave of this place. I have no intention to tarry.” she says plainly.

[Gair]

Gair nods once to Luna, starting his way out of the Castrum with their new thoroughbred Garlean Triclops. Whistling at him as if he were a dog as he tugs him along by the lead, “C'mon, boy.” As they step out of the inner sanctum and into the night, he spares a glance sidelong at his knightly companion. “How's the arm?”

[Luna]

The knightess turns her head to look at the armored sling which now had a couple bulletholes in it. “It… has been better. But it'll be fine. Nothing some rest and treatment won't solve. I'll defer to Miss Miyuki if it's been set back in progress but… I think it'll be alright. What about yourself?” she asks, returning her gaze. “You took some knocks yourself, more so if I hadn't Covered you.”

[Gair]

Gair shrugs, kicking their prisoner in the back of the knee now to send him falling to the ground. Dragging him on the hard road now as he yelps and begs. “My pride is more wounded by needing cover from someone whose two steps from being an invalid..” He trails off and inclines his head. “But I owe you a debt of gratitude, for shielding myself and the conjurer.”

[Luna]

“Pride is much easier to recover than life.” she responds, watching the engineer suffer. “Think nothing of it. It's my duty to the realm. Even were it not, it wouldn't change my actions.” she says. “Thank you for the manpower. I think we would have had trouble without your sword.”

[Gair]

“Still, she is important to me. Thank you.” Gair admits rather candidly, whether it be from the man Luna knows or an amalgam is uncertain. Answering her gratitude in turn. “But like you, I am duty bound. I would be lesser had I not rose to meet it.”
