The Lines Between Trust and Betrayal - 11/13/19

[Enyo]

The cloak of darkness that evening brought, as arrived home to her small house in The Mist, snacking on some cake of course. As she approached her door, she stopped dead in her tracks, eyes widen in horror. Wedge in the door was a solid black dagger with red accents, and a certain imperial logo engraved into the hilt. The same seal on the white envelope. All color draining from her face. In a simultaneous motion, yanking the dagger from her front door, and grabbing the sealed letter, using it to open the envelope, reviewing it in horror. Every alias she had used at this point scribbled and crossed out in red ink. Her gut twisted as in same ink was her birth given name. Fear washed over her as she backed up from her house. Not sure where to turn, where to hide, her paranoia caused her to search and continuing searching as she found herself walking.

Not really sure, but she found herself at Luna's door. Rapid pounding of her fist on the floor. Her other hand clutching the dagger tightly, and a mess of paper in the hand she used to beat on the poor door. Still looking around. “Please be home. Please be awake” she kept repeating.

[Luna]

There is a brief pause of silence and inactivity before there is some sound of movement inside. Before long, the doorknob begins to twist and the door itself opens slowly. Revealed just inside is a relatively short snow-haired mi'qote wearing an apron as well as a look of surprise. In her right hand, a knight's blade rests at the ready, but as the woman sees Enyo, she lowers the weapon.

“Miss Enyo? I was not expecting you, but please, come on in.” she says, waving the other woman inside. “Is everything alright? It's not often I receive unannounced visitors at this hour.” she explains briefly, moving to step more inside with Enyo and close the door.

[Enyo]

Her eyes nearly over come with tears, not really sure how to control these emotions she was going through. “Thank the kami” she said, sweeping her gaze around again, before entering the estate. She began pacing the main living room, her words shaky, and some came out in Hingashi. “I made a mistake…. should of stayed under Bakufu …. should not left Kugane.”

[Luna]

The cattified knight took a seat after closing the door firmly, watching the woman pace about. “Miss Enyo, perhaps it would be wise to slow down and tell me what happened? I do not speak any eastern dialects, so it would be best if you collect yourself and speak clearly.”

[Enyo]

Looking to the Mi'qote calmer demeanor, shaking her head, staying at a distance as she focused on her breathing, still pacing. “*They* found me” she said shaking her head. Going to a window and looking out to check again no one followed her here.

[Luna]

“And who would *they* be then?” she asked, placing the sword on the table next to her but close enough it could be grabbed quickly.

[Enyo]

Still with the dagger and the letter clutched in her fist, her knuckles grew white, but she absently wrapped her arms around her paying no mind. Keeping her eyes out the window, as she leaned against the framing. “They would be…” her voice trailed off, as she just stared out window. “Imperials.” she said in almost a whipser.

[Luna]

Luna locked eyes on Enyo when she spoke. “Imperials? Why in the world would they be after you, especially so far inside the safety of the alliance? The Mists would be a very dangerous place for an imperial right now.” she said, the sudden thought of imperials making her blood begin to boil.

[Enyo] Repeatedly shaking her head, not saying anything. She just sinks to the floor, sitting with her back against the wall, she pulls her knees up to her, burying her face between. Sliding the Garlean-esque dagger toward Luna's direction. Finally speaking up, with a tremble in her voice, “I was away on a venture. I came home to a note pinned into my door with /That./” Keeping the note close to her.

[Luna]

The woman bends down to pick up the dagger, looking at it curiously. “I haven't heard any reports of Imperials anywhere around here, so this is quite unusual. What did you do to upset them? Surely it's not from Occidens.” she says as she places the dagger on the table.

[Enyo]

Pulling her head up to speak, “It's not what I did, but,”in an attempt to recollect herself, “You are aware of what they do to those who,” pausing for a moment again, “those who flip sides, or defect. If they are caught?”

[Luna]

The moonseeker looks at the woman, eyeing her with concern. “Excuse me, Miss Enyo. Are you saying you are an Imperial defector? Have I heard you correctly?” she asks.

[Enyo]

Pulling her bangs back to reveal no third eye, “No, you did not, but I believe I have a story for you.” sighing as she looks over the scribblings on the letter.

“There was a Garlean Scientist who took the curiosity of aether manipulation and attempting to imbued aether into a body that cannot Aether. As the test failed, due to the limitation of a Garlean, other measures were taken. First it was the children who were born from more extreme measures, the scientist continued down a dangerous path deemed in her society, and began testing on herself. With her first part of the test successful, she felt confident, and over time attempted to imbue aether in means to strengthen the effects of the test subject she carried. However, as progressed in term, people close to her began to question, it was not until her husband grew with concern. He grew in supiciosion regarding the child no being his. The scientist made her way to a remote outpost where she delivered said child. However, due to the rumor of her experiment, she became hunted for actions of producing a half garlean child. Without question in regards to her logic. She knew she had friends in the east, and fled to them with the bundled infant.” sighing in between, attempting to recall all of the notes. “Upon further developments, surrendered the infant over to the family, keeping the identity a secret. As she walked away knowing that day, she gave up, providing the imperials that the child died of complications. However, from what I have heard, her deeds were punished, she was sentenced to death upon returning to Garlemald.”

[Luna]

Luna just looks at Enyo, absorbing what was being said as best she can. She takes a solid moment after Enyo finishes, processing before speaking. “So, if I understand this right, you're saying *you* were this experimental half Garlean? That is… quite the tale.” she says, seemingly believing it all. “I am very sorry to hear that, Miss Enyo. Truly. That is a lot to take in, but I am very sorry it happened to you. I suppose, given how Garleans treat betrayal of any kind, it makes sense you'd be hunted.”

[Enyo]

“My identity has been hidden for so long, and I feared tell you and the rest. I was more concerned of being on the end of the blade of someone who I trusted, instead of in a lab being tested on.” looking over the scribbled. “The only thing I can think is when I was visit the consulate member, and they became suspicious of who I was, wanted blood samples, and I refused. Eventually I was smuggled out, and returned to Kugane before going to Limsa.” trying to pull herself into herself, as she felt vulnerable. “I just,” becoming worked up.

[Luna]

“It would take quite a revelation for myself to turn a blade on a comrade or friend, Miss Enyo. Even if you are half-Garlean.” she says plainly. “It is okay, Miss Enyo. You are in my home and perfectly safe. Were some assassin to turn up, they would not stand a chance before me, even in this form as I am.” she says, trying to comfort the worked up woman.

[Enyo]

“I feel better getting it off my chest.” fiddling with the paper, flipping it around in her fingers, but looks up at Luna, “What do I do, I have no idea who are the hunters, and what they look like. I assume them to be Garlean, but maybe a supporter, but they would be walking in normal clothing, so you would never know.”

[Luna]

“Well…” she says, standing and moving past Enyo towards the kitchen. “To start with, you collect yourself and have something to eat. Perhaps food can help calm your nerves. Perhaps even cake, as I know you to quite enjoy. You will not make rational decisions until you have found yourself once more.” she says, motioning Enyo over to the kitchen.

[Enyo]

She stands up, and follows the now smaller of the two into the kitchen area, sitting at a stool. Looking down at the note at the the name scribbled. “Cake would be good.”

[Luna]

Luna searches the kitchen, finding a covered glass that housed a small chocolate cake. She picks up the lid, cutting and plating a large slice of the cake and handing it to Enyo. “Here Miss Enyo. I used a large amount of cocoa in this one.”

[Enyo]

Smiling at the large slice, and picking into piece, and eating small bites. “Wait, this isnt a trick is it?”

[Luna]

“Pardon? A trick? What do you mean?” she asks, genuinely curious.

[Enyo]

She just shrugs and takes a larger bite. “I just didnt expect any of this, I was not sure why I ended up here at first, I just did not want to be alone.”

[Luna]

“Well it is good that you are here. Consider this place safe, Miss Enyo. Tell me whatever is on your mind.”

[Enyo]

Finish up a bite before responding, “Right now, I need to find out what this means, if it is a threat or not. “looking down at the paper that has been scrunched in her hand. “I assume it's a threat, only my parents,” pausing, “well, my parents of Hingashi, knew about it.”

[Luna] “Forgive the assumption, Miss Enyo, but a dagger impaled upon one's door rarely means anything pleasant.” she says, shaking her head. “It would be plenty terrible for a parentage to know about a threat on one's life and do nothing about it, especially to not tell the afflicted about it.” she says, frowning at the thought of it all.

[Enyo]

“They're the ones who told me to begin with, and how I had be careful who I entitled my trust to. They did their best to protect me, and I am thankful for that. However, at some point, I couldn't continue to live their aristocratic life, and they have the Bakufu as protection. Part of the reason why I worked for them.” Finally finishing the bite of cake.

[Luna]

“That is a relief to hear then, good. That they didn't shun or abandon you.” she says, pausing in thought. “As much as I'd like that to be the solution, you can not stay at my house forever, surely. But for now, you should. We can think on ways to go about handling this, *hopefully* without unnecessary violence. But with Imperials involved, that seems unlikely.”

[Enyo]

Shaking her head, “I don't wish to intrude, but I think for now I agree, as badly as I wish to spend time in my own bed.” Thinking of her next action, “Once daylight comes, I want to look over my home, and make sure it safe. However, I am more concerned of the who and what do they want.”

[Luna]

“I know little and less about anything specific when it comes to Garleans and Imperials. But I will gladly assist you in assessing the safety of your home, as well as any sort of investigating into who is targeting you. This sort of thing is not okay and I will not stand for it.” she says in a strong tone.

[Enyo]

She smiled, becoming teary eyed”Thank you for understanding, and helping”

*wrap up at the Twin Otters, afterwards Enyo heads to Ul'Dah to meet with someone in the Merc guild before heading back.*

Upon returning from Ul’dah, Enyo was delivered a letter from a boy who was paid to find her traveling from Ul’dah to Limsa. In the letter was instructions to meet the contact in private at Vesper Bay at the break of dawn after the next night.

As instructed in the letter, she left the comforts of her Inn room in Ul’dah and made the journey to Vesper Bay. The quietness of the small port village crept eerily at her, as the clicking of heels against the stone was the sound echoing. She survived the area, looking for a sign of another. Down the alley, cloaked in dark, a man nearly as tall as an Elezen, but as built as a highlander leaned against a wall. Wearing simpler clothing, but dressed in all black attire. He looked up from the brim of the hat, his cold eyes met hers from the distance. She hastily made her way toward him.

“Hyrin, what are you doing here.” She said after closing the distance. “Have you defected?”

“You are really as stupid as the rest of the people in this country aren’t you” he said to her in a flat, but with a hint of disgust in his voice.

“What?” she said beginning to realize exactly what was going on. She stepped back, and her back meant a solid mass. Turning her head to look up a larger built casual dressed Garlean soldier. As she stepped forward looking around for an exit, fear washed over here as two other soldiers joined in blocking her in.

“Please hold her still.” A higher pitched male voice called out from behind the Roe size soldier. She grabbed for her gunblade, but the man behind her placed her into a cage with his arms, keep her arms at her side.

The man she called Hyrin stepped forward, taking the gunblade from her, as the other one asking to hold her still approached her. Keeping her eyes on the one she knew, “Why?” was the only thing she could say to him at the time.

“I would say I am working on my agenda, but to be told the truth, I don’t have to tell you anything. You are property of the Empire, and you belong to us.” He said as he popped open the barrel of the gunblade examining the rounds. Finally looking up at her, sneering. “Disgusting half breed for a sister.” She just stared at him eyes widen in horror, he did this to her.

“lux Avuris, enough chit chat here, you can have your family bonding time up at the castrum. The town is sure to wake soon.” The scientist addressed Hyrin as his title. pulled out a metal case as he placed himself in front of Enyo. Removing a syringe from the case.

“HEL….” She screamed, a hand clamped over her mouth and pulling her head aside as her neck was exposed. The metal pierced her skin, injecting an unknown mixture into her.

The world around her darkened as her limbs became heavy. In the next blink her consciousness left her.

Hulling her up into a wagon on the north side of the port village, that lead up to where the now abandoned facility at Cape Westwind.

A small knock on Luna door, a young curior stood at the step of the house waiting to deliver a letter.
The letter read:
Lady Luna, If you are reading this, I have contacted someone who can provide information on the happenings. However, they wish to meet alone. If you have not heard from me by mid-day, I have ventured to Vesper Bay. -Enyo
( @Neon would of recieved the letter early, but the event would of happened before hand. There is one more scene with the NPCs

[Luna]

The woman thanked the courier for the letter and went back inside to read it, suspicion growing. “To go to such an event alone would be remiss of all senses…” she muttered to herself, thinking on what to do. The letter did say that she should be back before mid-day, but Luna was not the sort to trust these things much less when it involved someone making bad decisions. She lay the letter on her table and headed upstairs, changing into her cloth-covered plate armor and grabbing her blade and shield, securing them both before grabbing a satchel. She stocked it with supplies from the house just in case - bandages, some food & drink, that sort of thing. She then set out to Vesper Bay, highly suspicious of the whole ordeal.

[Enyo]

(So, I talked to Tod, since you were going to go into Nier about the issue, and he could of tailed her, but he would of just needed a call on the link pearl. Also, made a point of sneaking on one of the shuttles, so in sense, could of called it back. as well. We can discuss further tomorrow if you have time.)

Upon the bustling business of Vesper Bay, little is to be known of the happens at Cape Westwind, or Castrum Marinum. Other a couple traveler that recently stopped through with a wagon, saying they were hunting north of the village. Only concern to the guards was their wagon was full of shipment crates.

(If Luna choose to seek out Castrum Marinum, the site is as follows)

The abandon facility is now over grown with vegetarion and critters scuttering about. The grounds of what was once Cape Westwind, has a small presence about, upon approaching the shuttle area two men are working on loading shipping containers onto the shuttle, and a single guard is near by. In the distance a small airship is docked on the north side, out of site of the village. The airship is not marked with any Garlean presence, but the tech is Garlean. By no means is this guarded as a castrum should be, but there is a sense of shady activity going on.

[Luna]

On arriving at Vesper Bay, the knight finds herself disappointed at the lack of activity and Enyo. She pauses for a moment, thinking on her next course of action before heading further in, eyes set on Cape Westwind as it was the only imperial location she knew of directly nearby. Signaled by the minor activity, it becomes apparent there are perhaps more Imperials then should be in a long-since abandoned facility. She stays out of sight for the moment, putting a finger to her ear to activate her linkpearl.

” @Gair, it would seem Miss Enyo has gotten herself into some trouble. I fear she may have been forcibly taken to Cape Westwind. Hopefully you're nearby before I run out of Imperials to *interrogate*.“

[Gair]

The crackle of a linkpearl can be heard in the cozy residence of a particular in-denial cohabiting couple. Sitting and having a meal, the initial struggle to have him remove it while eating is won by Gair. Who immediately steps toward his closet and armory now, answering Luna first. “Gust and I will be right there, Luna.” And he cuts communication to explain to @Cerul . “Luna needs me, there is more of Garlemald afoot.”

He steps into his closet, rather quickly arming and armoring himself- seeing as how most of the clothes he owns are just the undergarments for his armor. A wide claymore is strapped to his back and he slides a cylinder-fed pistol into a holster on his hip as he steps into the partitioned living room and kitchen. A gauntleted handful of empty aetheric cartridges that he presents for Miyuki. “We may need some healing, if you could load some of your conjuries into these.”

[Luna]

“Much appreciated, my friend. I shall await your arrival, hopefully with someone left to extract informations from.” she says, releasing her hand and turning her attention back to the Garleans. She decided to wait a bit longer before acting, choosing to use her time to watch the men at work and perhaps identify some sort of target.

[Miyuki]

Miyuki's takes the cartridges in one hand, her other occupied with a particularly succulent piece of deep fried fish that she had been nibbling at. “Off to dive headfirst into more danger, are we?” Her glib words are belied by the solemn expression on her face as she dutifully begins infusing aether into the cartridges.

[Tadashi]

(That's all Miyuki is to you? An aether bank? D: )

[Gair]

Gair watches as Miyuki does her work, a helpless shrug offered at her question. His answer laden with his usual dry honesty, “I'd be a terribly boring man if I didn't, besides, you'd kick me if I hid beneath the table at the sight of trouble.” Trying to offer some reassurance, the odd show of physical affection is shown from the man. Offering her a rather fond pat on the head before he plucks the six rounds up off the table, loading each into his handcannon.

The solemn sight did make him hesitate as he lingered there. “I'll be home soon, Miyuki.” The hand on her head moves up to his faceplate to lift it and perhaps a little shockingly, leans in to peck a chaste kiss on the Raen woman's cheek before he is out the door and gone. Finding his black-feathered chocobo to head out of Ul'dah and for Vesper Bay with all haste, a familiar ride for one returning to the Waking Sands.

[Luna]

(HARLOT)

[Gair]

(I'll segue Gair there.)

[Luna]

(Gair never kisses me like that)

[Gair]

It takes not very long for Gair and a terribly exhausted chocobo to reach Vesper Bay, the bird's exhaustion leading him to leave the poor boy in the care of the porter at the foot of the town. Plodding through the small port town at quite a clip, his hand reaches up for his linkpearl to inform Luna. “I'm here, heading for you now.” Shouldering off his claymore, he begins to sprint down the cave path leading out of Vesper Bay by Luna's direction over the linkshell.

[Enyo]

As the men finish loading up the shuttle, calling up to advise that was read, it ascended to the castrum. With what appears to be at least another load to go, the men took a break, cracking into one of the crates of wine. Passing a bottle between the two having a laugh, the guard still standing ready, but annoyed at the two. “Come on old man, lighten up, this is a whole lot better than home.”One of the works teased at the guard. The guard just grunted in response. “This is the final load, then we wait for whatever is going down inside with that scientist.”The other man said, taking a swig of the bottle of wine before passing it back. The two men continued to joke as they waited for the shuttle to descend. Once restationed, the continued to load the final wagon with the goods.

[Luna]

Luna casually steps forward towards the men, raising a hand as if calling out to them. “Hail, goodmen! I was wondering if you could help me out, I'm looking for a lost woman. Someone by the name of Enyo, seems to be she was lost in Vesper Bay and may have come out this way.” she says casually, keeping a hand on the pommel of her blade, ready to draw if need be.

[Gair]

By the time Gair arrives, he will be spotting Luna approach the men with a casual wave. Staring long and hard at the display, he takes this moment to slink around the peripheral, low to the ground. Attempting to find his way among the boxes and equipment being loaded, hoping to put himself in a favorable spot to ambush them when things inevitably go south.

[Enyo]

The two men spooked by Luna's approach, one dropping the bottle of wine. The guard narrowing his eyes on the Miqtoe that approached. Placing his hand up to his ear, saying something in a different language, the shuttle descend.

“We no smuggle women, no woman by Enyo here.” In his broken dialect, short with the woman. The shuttle descend, turning his attention back to the two works. “Finish loading.” After the shuttle redock two men began to nervous load the last of the shipments. The men kept looking toward the miqtoe.

[Luna]

“Strange, I didn't mention anything about smuggling. It makes one think you might be hiding something…” she says, suspicion dripping from her voice. She draws her sword and shield, pointing the blade towards the men. “You can lie to me, but not to the Fury! Do not attempt to conceal your actions from the Twelve! Hands in the air ere I needs must strike divine!” she shouts, walking closer.

[Enyo]

The guard busted into a deep roll of laughter. “The only action we conceal is how to get this to shipment into its location.” Waving off the white hair woman, but still keeping an eye on her.

None of the men had noticed Gair sneak up on them, their attention focused souly on the white hair miqtoe. The two workers whispered between the two as they continued to load crates marked with Wineport wine.

[Gair]

Curiosity getting the better of him as he hides among the boxes, Gair pops open one of the Wineport crates he hides among to find a rather delicious surprise. Stuffing one away in his gear bag and popping another's cork open for a quick swig of the ruby red draught. Enjoying a good portion of the bottle before he makes himself known. With a crash of glass and spray of crimson, he would emerge from the crates from behind the rearward guard. Shattering the wine-filled bottle over his head, his free hand snatching his collar and holding the newly improvised glass knife up to his throat. “No sudden moves, now.. answer the lady's question. Less you want to be next.” He looks to the second man who is free from his grasp, showing he very much has a hostage he is ready to hurt.

[Enyo]

The screams from one of the works was high pitched and deafing. The evadence of the man soiling his pants was present. The other worker threw his hands up, dropping and shattering a crate of wine. The guard side eyed the new comer. “We no smuggle woman.” He said in his broken eorzean. The man towered Gair's highlander height. He remained calm but had his hand over the pistol. The man that dropped the crate, “There is a woman inside, but we are not taking her with us.” he cried. The guard proceeded to pull his pistol out, quickly taking the shot, ending the workers life before could say anymore. The other worker screamed more, dropping to the ground.

[Luna]

The knight watches the events unfold but the gunshot activates her combat focus. She runs forward, sword drawn and shield forward, aiming to topple the armed guard. Her shield connects, knocking the man over as she steps on his chest with an armored boot. She uses her other foot to kick the gun out of his hand, knocking it away before she plants her sword mere inches away from the guard's throat. “Speak now before I render you mute.” she says coldly, pressing the blade against his neck slightly.

[Enyo]

The guard grabbed the knightess boot, and began to twist it, in attempt to knock the smaller woman off of the guard. The roe size man taunted the woman, laughing. The other man still screaming turning to sobs, back to screaming. “Please dont kill me, I was just told this would be a pay check.” sobbing.

[Gair]

Gair would hold onto the body of the lifeless man for a shield and press his way for the worker who is screaming and blubbering for his life. To get the poor worker out of immediate danger, he would put a hand on his collar and attempt to shove him to the ground behind some crates. “Stay there, if you run, I'll feed you to my chocobo.” And to make his threat all that more certain, he draws his claymore from his baldric. Brandishing it as he steps up to the scuffle between Luna and the Roegadyn.

[Luna]

Luna attempts firstmost to kick her boot out of the man's grasp, but quickly realized the inherent difficulty of such an action. She scowls at the man holding her leg and removes her blade from his throat, bringing it to bear against the arm holding her. She quickly pulls the blade upwards before plunging it downward, pushing the blade into the man's arm and out the other side, impaling him in the stomach as well.

[Enyo]

Attempting to punch with the free hand, the movements became lethargic. The guard began coughing up blood before the light of his eyes faded out, as blood stained the soil underneath. The worker who was shoved behind the crates crept to the now lifeless corpse of the man who spoke beforehand, in this blind attempts to awake his comrade.

“Please, come on Gab, wake up.” he sobbed.

[Luna]

The knightess pushes her sword further through to assure the death of the guard, pulling it back out shortly thereafter. The blade dripped with blood and life essence as she turned around, aiming the sword at the newly arrived worker. “Unless thee wishes to join thine comrade, pray tell us where to find this captured maiden. I will not hesitate to visit the Fury herself upon you.” she threatens, staring into the man's eyes with a cold rage.

[Enyo]

The worker looked up to the knightess sobbing, “I do not know of any woman by Enyo that you mentioned earlier, they brought lux Avuris half sister for mal Cadmus to examine.” He man said in a haste as he looked between the two, “I didnt even see who or what she looked like, I got back from collecting supplies to transport. I just know she was already here, and was instructed not to disturb mal Cadmus. I have no idea what the scientist had planned for her.”

[Luna]

Luna thinks on what the man says, remembering Enyo mentioning being part of some experiment. She looks down upon the grief-stricken man, holding her blade at the ready all the same. “I know not who these people are you speak of, but I am to assume this poor person you treat as a test subject is the woman I am looking for. You will bring me and my friend to where-ever they have taken this person to, and then you will go about your life as if you never saw us.” she instructed, lying. She fully intended to run the man through once they were done with him, perhaps her hatred of Garleans pushing her hand.

[Enyo]

The man nodded as he went over to the shuttle, operating the main control unit, all the time muttering how he should of not accepted this job. He waited for the two to board the shuttle keep his head held low, looking back to the other workers lifeless corpse.

[Gair]

Content to wait for Luna to negotiate with the Garlean staff, Gair does his part to look mean and stare the man down when necessary. Perhaps picking up on the odd show of 'mercy' from Luna. He directs his attentions to Luna and asks her as he boards the shuttle, a challenge. “You'd stake that assurance on your honor?”

[Enyo]

The man keeping his hands visible as he nervously fidgeted. He kept his eyes moving between the two that attacked them, near hyperventilating in sheer horror for a commoner.

[Gair]

Gair, ironically being in the spirit of being the “good cop” in this scenario. His chin lifts as he considers the Garlean man, asking him in a conversational. “You mentioned this was to be an easy payout for you, then? I'd wager you're sending the coin back home. A wife, then? Parents?”

In the peripheral of Gair's vision, a black-clad specter is perched upon a railing. His voice, *their* voice speaks only to the highlander. “Compassion? You disgust us.”

[Enyo]

“Smuggle goods back into the captial, the coin is for my wife and expecting.” The man relaxed a bit , “Things are, well bad there, and since the only imports are smuggled in now, any Garleans out of the captial are better off out of the captial right now.” Shaking his head, “when that bloody scientist came on with his guards, I knew things would be difficult, just never imagined.” Looking to the dead bodies.

[Gair]

“Twelve blessings to that, pop.” Gair fishes out the bottle of Wineport red and bites out the cork, spitting it on the ground before he takes a swig and extends the bottle to him. “I'm busy enough as an uncle, can't say I'm up to having my own flesh and blood crying into the wee hours yet. But never say never.”

[Enyo]

“Never thought I would live to see the day myself, ” an uneasy laugh came from the man, before a sigh, taking the bottle, before sitting on a crate near the control panel. “I would been forced enlisted in the military this year if war did not happen. Now I'm trying to make ends meet for my love” handing the bottle back, the man was more of a boy then a man. Looking back up at the castrum, “I hope she isnt your friend. But, since in order to get back into Garlean territory, she needs identification, but” he shook his head, “if she is who she is, then they would just excute for the treason her mother was part of.”

[Gair]

Oddly enough, willing to take a drink after this common lad of Garlean's. A finger lifting off of the bottle as he points at the man. “No shit, eh?” His chest rumbles in a light chuckle. “If you want my advice, get you and your woman out. Shit always trickles down when there's a mess in the Empire, you'd be better off moving cargo in Limsa. Dishonest work, but it's far from the fighting.” At the news he's getting from this loose-lipped common lad, his own gaze trails up the castrum. “So we're storming the castle for a maiden fair, you might want to hide once the action starts.”

[Luna]

The knightess stows her blade, turning away from the pair so as to not allow sight of her face. The threat was over and it was difficult for her to imagine killing someone so close to the very kinds of people she swore to protect. Internally, she was fighting herself, thinking about how this man was the enemy merely for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. She kept a hand on her pommel, but made no further action.

[Enyo]

As the white hair woman boarded the shuttle, the man hit the entry to ascend the shuttle up. Sitting in quiet, keeping his eyes on the airship. Once the shuttle docked with in the castrum, the sounds of airship engines echoed the abandon hallways. The boy hastily made it to the a forked path, calling out behind him, “go straight through those doors, that where the equipment was setup at.” He then full on sprinted down the hallway to the right, but the sounds of the engines distance as he left.

[Gair]

As the shuttle docks, Gair steps off the metal steps and into the walkway fully. When the boy was fully out of earshot, he began to speak in a tongue all but foreign to Luna and he, Ishgardian. Reciting virtues in almost a chiding tone. <“Courtesy, Honor, Valor, Humility, Generosity, *Mercy*, *Honesty*.”> After a pause, he finishes his thought in the common tongue. “Ready, Chevalier Blanc?”

[Luna]

The woman scowls back at Gair, almost regretting her indecision. “I do not need such vows thrown back at me, is it not enough to have a crisis of conscience? He's just starting a family, I can't very well cut that down…” she muses, walking behind the highlander. “I can appreciate that shade of yours keeping you educated though, it's a nice look for you.” she snarks, half out of frustration. “Let us be off then, *Chevalier Noir*.” she adds.

[Enyo]

Upon entering the room, the scent of metallic and brunt flesh is nearly overwhelming. The minimum equipment was the only thing in the room aside from a table in an angled upright position. A slow trickle of blood dripped off the edge. The devices looking table backside was facing the door, preventing the view of who/what was strapped down. (Breaking this into two post, room then the state of Enyo.)

[Gair]

Gair casts a glance over his shoulder at Luna as he takes in the scents, his large nostrils flaring with an audible sniff. “Clearly you did, what good is a knight if your word isn't an extension of yourself?” At the latter snark, he admits rather candidly- still very much himself even in spite of his lapse into a foreign tongue. “I can't help it these days, I'm almost blinded with rage at my own ignorance now.”

[Luna]

Her scowl turns into a frown at the man's grilling. “I do not appreciate this mocking, Gair. My decision was not one made hastily nor happily. To stay my blade like that… goes against a considerable amount of my teachings and yet I can not help being human.” she says, clearly anguished by her failure. She does not respond to the man's claim of being blinded by ignorance.

[Gair]

“If your teachings tell you to make widows and babes come into this world without their fathers, your teachings are flawed.” In the sight of Luna's frustration, Gair can only ruefully smirk back at her. “I'm not trying to draw your ire idly, we will need your fury. Twelve only knows what lurks these halls when a triclops wears the title of 'scientist'.”

[Luna]

“If Halone did not intend for the sickness to be excised, she would not have made it so readily apparent.” she says, the questioning seemingly driving her defensive. She rubs her temple with a couple fingers, groaning. “Right, we need to stay focused. I have not a single idea what we will find in these ghostly halls but if Miss Enyo has been taken here, it shan't be anything good.”

[Enyo]

Upon walking around to the front of the table, a near grotesque scene is presented. Enyo was sealed onto the table with bindings that were of mechanical nature, and a leather binding sealed her mouth shut. In her simple clothes with a sheet covering her lady bits, her body is scattered with precision cuts, that are cauterized. Some of these are deep enough to expose muscle. Her body was covered in indication of measurements. The blood that was dripping was from cuts that where recently sliced into the arches of her feet. A luminous blue liquid dripping into her arm, and the non responsiveness state from sedation would question if she was dead, the only sign was still with them was the shallow breathing.

[Gair]

“Garlean royalty.” Is all Gair can manage, spying Enyo's state on the table. His boots clip heavily on the ground as he moves up onto the sealed table, not at all knowing what in the hell he could do in this situation. “Fuck, it really *is* Enyo in here. Twelve fucking hells.” He paces around the table, looking for something *anything* further that would stand out to him in this room. “That explains her hesitation to talk about her consulate work.”

[Luna]

The woman is about to respond to his remark about Garlean royalty as the scene hits her as well. “Fuhh-Fury be…” she says, almost swearing but catching herself. She rushes over to the sealed table, reaching for her sword and drawing it. “What have they been doing to you, Miss Enyo…” she says slowly. She begins looking for somewhere to wedge her sword in order to break the seal, but she is unable to find anything. “We should have kept that boy with us.” she remarks. “You don't suppose that blue liquid is some sort of… anesthetic do you?” she asks Gair, still searching for a point of weakness in the contraption.

[Gair]

Gair has no idea what anasthetic is, focused on the utterly carved up form of their mutual friend. He gears his attentions to Luna, asking in mild confusion. “Anna-what? Don't bring my former lovers up at a time like this, we gotta help Enyo!” Not quite knowing what he can do in this moment beside find anyone who can operate the Magitek machinery around them. Gair barks out, “We'll hold this center room, see if there's anyone we can snag.” He would look for a door or adjacent room, peering about for any signs of life.

[Luna]

Luna glares at Gair. “Do you seriously not know what that is? Numbing agent, a way to prevent the pain of what would otherwise be trauma.” she says, almost exasperated with him for the moment. She however remains focused as well, looking around herself.

[Gair]

The pedantry of not knowing what a general anasthetic is and being called on it pricks his irritation. Gair snaps his gaze back on Luna and grunts. “That's healer shit, don't get on me about that. You can't even tell me the difference between a double action and single action pistol!”

[Enyo]

About the room, the decay of abandoned equipment in contrast to the newer setup that the duo was at. Around the makeshift lab, was a couple containers from equipment, and other supplies, the evidence urgent departure of the crew. Above one the container was neatly stacked Enyo’s belongs(Just clothing, and jewelry she had on.) Around the table was many different switches and nobs, as well as different control panels at different points. Mainly all in the traditional Garleanen letter, however nothing that stands out as Open/Close.

[Gair]

Gair would have made himself semi-useful in identifying Enyo's clothes, his brow lofting at the feminine style of the of the woman. “Women's clothes, I think these are hers? A distinct presence of purple.” He would inform Luna, hefting the light aluminum crate over. Setting it on a nearby examination table to keep it in sight and mind.

[Luna]

The woman rolls her eyes at Gair's complaint relating to guns. “So single-minded sometimes…” she laments. She makes her way over to the console, looking at all the buttons with curiosity. “There's an array of buttons over here, Gair. But I could not identify what any of them do for the life of me.” she says, inviting him over. “Good, I imagine she will not want the world to see her as the Twelve designed.” she says in response to his procurement of her garments.

[Gair]

Gair inquires sidelong, “Well she's not goin' anywhere? What say you we go find someone who can open this damn thing up?” He jabs his chin to the nearby doors, ready to depart and take another hostage.

[Luna]

Luna nods, departing from the array of buttons and heading towards the doors. “I fear we will make no headway with naught but our Twelve-given abilities. This technology is far beyond what I've seen save for here and there.” she says, hoping to find something a smidge more useful than unmarked buttons.

[Enyo]

The young Garlean made his way through the facility attempting to get back to the shuttle transport, without drawing attention from the two that spared his life earlier. Knowing well that if he was caught, he was on the end of the Knightess sword. The small team that he joined, showed him exactly where they saw him, leaving him behind assuming he was dead. He was dead to them, dead to the empire. With that in mind, he muttered to himself, “You got this, just get to Limsa, make some money, and send for my beloved. Easy as that.” Ducking in between the decaying equipment, he crept passed the hallway that lead into the lab.

[Gair]

Gair would have been plodding along down into one of the hallways, claymore shouldered over his pauldron. A rather bloody obvious sight that he was not garlean: the great horns of his helm would poke up above the boxes and decaying equipment. By now he's decided to drop pretense and stealth to just call out, “There's a savage right heeeeeeeere, don't you triclops shitlings want a piece of this?”

[Luna]

The knightess trails behind Gair, looking around as they move. “Must you be so brutish!? We need not alert any lonesome shadows who still reside in this gaol.” she complains, though she continues to follow. Though she does not stick out quite as much over the errata of the Castrum as the great desert oaf does, her stark white hair and knightly trimmings would be quite the contrast all the same were someone to spy her.

[Enyo]

The young man heard the voices ring out from the other side of the hallway, with the shuttle in sight on the other side. Debating if he could make to the other side before the voices saw him. He decided to hide between some crates in hopes they would pass.

[Gair]

“There's no soldiers around, Yeti.” Gair complains right back, by now he is using his claymore as a cane. Rapping it on the crates rather loudly in the hopes to frighten and jostle movement from any would-be skulkers in the dark. “Which means everyone's tucked tail, either left.. or they're around to be found.”

[Luna] “There's none around to see, sure. Were I to work in such an abandoned theater such as this, I would not stand idly by awaiting some crazed desert golem with a tree for a weapon to come upon me. I would be hidden, awaiting the opportunity to ambush him. Likely by being a woman and wearing few garments.” she says, mocking him by the end.

[Enyo] Crowderly, he tried to sit still, realizing he was breathing heavily, he covered his mouth. Trying to be as quiet as possible as he waited for the voice of the Hunters to grow distant before making a break for the shuttle.

[Gair] Gair groans irritatedly. “Always back to that mage talk, is it? I only went on about that because of how damn cold it was.” Idly, he goes about 'searching' for any would-be hiders by Luna's suggestion by hefting his heavy boot up. Slamming the heel into the odd nearby crate to send them toppling over. “And why's it we can't fuck our enemies, but it's well and fine to kill them? World could do with a bit more love, Luna.”

[Luna] “It's quite difficult to forget your warped priorities given my condition at the time. Cold or no.” She snaps back, though her tone is a bit more *catty*. She watches him knock over crates and looks around for movement as he does, but sees nothing for now. “Oh you would like that, wouldn't you?” She responds simply, looking away from him for a moment.

[Enyo] The sound of nearby crates toppling over caused the man to scream that was muffled by his hand over his mouth. Fidgeting, deciding to remain hidden or make a break for the shuttle. He recoiled into his hiding spot attempting to remain small and quiet. Hopefully they didn't hear him.

[Gair] Gair bickers back at Luna once more as if they were some sort of medieval power couple. “More love? Aye.” He admits rather candidly. “It beats the shadow of hate and murder any day.” At the muffled scream, he flashed a grin. Tilting his helmet up to better hear now, as if he were a vellciraptor in the first Jurassic Park. He sloooowly creeps between the crates, head first. He would look in the direction of the muffled scream and say, “Boo.”

[Enyo] With a blood curling scream as the raptor like man that shared a drink earlier scared the shit out of him. The young man scuttered across the ground trying to slip through Gair legs, and make his exit, all the time screaming “Please dont eat me” he wailed.

[Luna] Luna throws her hand towards the man, grabbing him by the collar from behind. Her tone and aura immediately turn frigid. “You seem to be just what we were looking for. I do hope you possess requisite knowledge to work the controls for some sort of sealed table in this facility.” she says as she pulls him to his feet while maintaining her grip on the man.

[Enyo] “I… I… I…” the young man stuttered, tears filling his eyes as was yanked to feet, stumbling on his words. Attempt to struggle with the grip of the Miqtoe, recognize the two from the attack from earlier. Finally finding his voice, “Table? You're not going to eat me?”

[Gair] Pretending as if he doesn't even remember the man from before, Gair cranes his head in real close and takes a loooong whiff of that boy with his massive nose. Putting on a comically barbaric voice. “I'unno, I like me some garlic. After all, I'm a big dumb savage.”

[Luna] “I do not find myself the type to consume manflesh. I make no such assurances for my companion here.” she says in a serious manner. “However, should you know how to release that woman from her strange gaol, perhaps we would not need to worry about such things.”

[Enyo] “The strange Gaol? Table?” The young man thought for a moment, “I guess I can try to help, if that means not being ate.” Again attempting to free himself from Luna grasp with a yank. “Itaque parce mihi.” he said in his garlean tongue.

[Gair] “If anything happens to her, I'll eat your legs first.” Gair half-heartedly threatens the man as they head back for the central room, he uses the pommel of his weapon to prod and urge the man forward.

[Luna] Luna relinquishes her grip on the man, drawing her blade and holding it at his back. “We move back to the large room with our friend in it. You will release her from her prison, and we will leave. Simple.” She states, ice dripping from her tone.

[Enyo] Walking through the doors, to where Enyo was unconscious. The young man nearly hurled upon the sight of her. As he looked over the contraption, he began to dry heaved. “Ya try turning it off?” He asked as he looked over the controls, scratching his head.

[Gair] While Gair had every inclination to simply turn off the machine, he just couldn't read the damn lettering on the thing. He can only motivate their captive by hooting and grunting like an animal as he slams the hilt of his sword on the floor. “Ugh, me savage, *very* hungry.”

[Enyo]

The young man gave Gair a stare that nearly would of bored him to death before h look over the strapping, not a damn clue what to do. Looking at the control panel, series of buttons. He just shrugged and hit a button he thought was right. Upon that the straps across Enyo body tightened. “SHIT.” He began to hit other buttons as the sounds from the machine protest against the resistance of her body. “Uhhh.” The table shot up in a straight position, the whiplash that would of given someone if they weren't strapped into an amusement ride. The boy unsure what to do, quickly moved to pull the power from power source from the table.

[Luna]

The grip of the knightess's blade tightens as she watches Enyo ride the Garlean roller coaster. “If you injure her, I will mirror it tenfold upon you, boy.” she growls at the man. “Come fellow savage, it is time we make rescue of our half-enlightened ally.” she says, gesturing to Gair, secretly enjoying his mockery.

[Gair]

“Me not think triclops can read.” Gair steps over to the table, with the surface having been tilted upright. He orients the grip of his weapon into a mordhau grip, motioning for Luna and the other man to take a step back before he heaves the hilt of his sword into the side of the glass paneling in the hopes to shatter it.
