The Want to Serve - 03/02/21
[R'Lamiza]
Lami strode up the familiar stairs in the mists, donning her usual long coat, her pearl necklace dancing on exposed skin, twinkling with a bit of aether of it's own she'd sigh. Preparing herself for whatever tongue lashing might await her for the events of Bojza as a whole
Tapping on the post to the archway, not that she needed too but it was more for her own sake, she strode onto the lawn and peered about the place, Checking to see if the Lalafell was outside his Manor or if she'd have to venture inside to find her quarry
[Eligor]
Eligor was indeed in the yard seemingly asleep at the tea table. He did not move at all, and if it were not for the light breeze blowing his hair and unbuttoned collar, he likely might be mistaken for a statue.
[R'Lamiza]
Lami rubbed the bridge of her nose. Sighing sighing she’d walk up abit and give a rough coughing sound. Trying not to rouse him too roughly. Expecting some sort of over the top reaction to being woken up at all.
[Eligor]
He opened his eyes slowly, but did not seem to focus on anything in particular.
“…What is it?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami stood there for abit as he woke up. “Wanted ta ask ya a question… but didn’t realize I was gonna come up on ya evenin’ nap… should I… come back later?”
[Eligor]
“If that was your intent you would have left quietly.”
He looks at the sky, trying to guess the time of day.
“What is your question?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami bit her lower lip and drew abit closer. “It’s ‘bout the ol’ Light of Astra bit.”she’d whisper the last part abit softly. Not really wanting to say it to loudly.
[Eligor]
“………….What bit?”
[R'Lamiza]
“I wanted ta… pit me toes back in it…Feel a particular pull towards it again. If ya’d have me anyways. I know me roll in that’s all done but there has ta be more ta do… right?”
[Eligor]
“Seems a roundabout method. What power do you actually seek?”
“I gave you the opportunity before to stay and you readily walked away—clearly purpose does not draw you. So just tell me what you really want.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami gave him a cross look. “I’m bein’ serious. Perhaps I’ll werd it differently, all three of me siblin’s. Far as I can tell, Are involved in sum way shape er form. And I’m left ta me devices on most days. I…had other motivations then that have since proven to be… the wron’ kind. I’m sure ya have sumthin’ ta say ‘bout that particular nugget. But either way…. I’d like ta play me part in thin’s. Obviously power isn’t a bad part of the deal but I’m not exactly sure what else I could do without being able ta freely use aether without havin’ ta store it so greedily.”
[Eligor]
“You misunderstand.”
“Only one of your siblings is remotely involved. Because it takes will and commitment to serve the purpose we created.”
“I would not force it on anyone—something you can claim witness to yourself.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami cocked her head to the side. “Well I didn’t claim ya forced it. But I suppose I assumed. Their involvement as well.”
[Eligor]
“You will not find your siblings through my religion.”
“But if they are your aim, I suppose that takes less time.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami opened her mouth and then closed it. Giving him a curious stare, she wasn’t sure how to respond to him at this point. Leaning lightly against the railing. “Ya goin’ sumwhere with that thought? Er do I gotta pick it up?” She said now contemplating her own motivations once again.
[Eligor]
“Returning to the path of light will not bring your siblings to you faster. They have chosen separation.”
“Does it concern you that much to know this? Do you not trust them to return to you?”
[R'Lamiza]
“It’s not trust. It’s worry. Until a little over a turn ago I thought them all dead… so anxious is the best word fer how I feel. But I’m still offerin’ meself. If ya’d have a use fer me. I guess I’ll just have ta run inta em when I run inta em.” She said with a casual shrug. “Either way, I suppose I’ll keep doin’ what I do.”
[Eligor]
“Do you even have the slightest idea what you had a hand in creating?”
“The gravity of abandoning it when you did?”
An aetheric pressure spreads throughout the lawn, his eyes coming to a glow.
“What it means to serve such a cause?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami felt the pressure grow but, she was expecting something akin to this. Not exactly making him angry but some sort of discomfort on her end to be sure. “Fer the first bit? I got a slight idea. Raziels birth er sumthin’ alon’ those lines….” pausing for a moment her ears slightly flattening. “and fer the second… I believe I do. Help those that are walked on by the upper rungs of society. Er am I wron’ entirely?” Almost expecting some sort of blast back from small yet terrifying lala.
[Eligor]
“Pitifully underinformed. I shall open your eyes.”
“Raziel was born yes, but that was the consequence of success.”
“You must have forgotten it by now. That other world, empty and pure. A true haven from the taint of this place.”
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, ending the pressure.
“How did I coerce obedience from the voidsent? Why did we join our hands with creatures we have been taught to fear and loathe?”
“What we succeeded in creating was not only the birth of a god, but a world for that god to govern. Every soul present there, we snatched from the carnivorous cycle of rebirth that we have here. What you had a hand in creating is akin to a true paradise—an afterlife in which souls are no longer taken and recycled by this uncaring world. Our pantheon has created a new heaven—no, an outer heaven…a true ark to a new existence.”
“THAT is what your hands helped create, and that is what you chose to walk away from.”
“Killers and warmongers hilariously built a world of true peace.”
He cackles in his seat, the pressure returning.
[R'Lamiza]
Lami listened to this monologue. Ears still abit flattened even after the pressure left. “Well… I can say I was wron’ in how grand the whole ordeal is…” she’d begin to continue speaking before the pressure returned. “So, I chose to walk away… perhaps fer the wron’ reason. Either way, I’ll just go about me own plans. Though I didn’t know that last bit when I walked away either.”
[Eligor]
“And what are these plans of yours?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami scratched her chin. “The short version is, start me own fleet, hire street rats like meself. And remove the abysmal poverty line that keeps those under foot in the mud. Over simplification but that’s the general Idea. Werki n’ out the bugs still though.”
[[Eligor]
“So you want to impose upon my market….”
[R'Lamiza]
“Hence why I’m here ta offer a hand.”
[Eligor]
He laughs, bringing a hand to his face.
“And the alternative is war?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami blinked abit. “No… wasn’t me intention ta brin’ that ‘bout at all…Simply wanna help. And figured since I’m already doin’ this it could only be a boon ta ya. I owe ya fer savin’ R’esha, and R’asha. So in fightin’ is not me goal.”
[Eligor]
“And what do you think of a world in which I am allowed to wear a crown?”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami gave him a look. “What, ya don’t wear one in this one already?” She seemed to giggle at her own poorly timed joke before she shrugged. “I doubt it would be any worse then this one. Least there I could believe in sumthin’. Unlike here where the “twelve” supposedly reside. So put bluntly. Doesn’t bother me.”
[Eligor]
“So you say…”
He stands up.
“There is much work to be done. You will want to coordinate more with Novine if your wish is to build a fleet of the downtrodden.”
“We created a world of light, but paradise is not enough. Nor is paradise for the weak such for everyone. My meager efforts were pitifully inadequate for a true undertaking.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami shrugged. “Trust me. My… disdain for the Twelve dwarfs what fear and even respect I hold fer ya.” Shoving off her perch she’d make a causal salute. “I’ll be sure ta get in contact with her then. Not sure how she will take if but hoping for a positive response.”
[Eligor]
“Mhm. I was wondering what you might be here for after what happened recently overseas. Consider me surprised.”
[R'Lamiza]
“What did ya think I was gonna be here fer?”
[Eligor]
“An explanation for allowing Blue to be put in harms way.”
“While Blue would likely delight at my disappearance, hers will have a massively negative effect on several people—most notably my foolish little apprentice.”
“More importantly, you all came to the Starlight celebration. Putting yourself in such an unnecessarily dangerous position is not something to be done without consequence either. The thoughtlessness of you both surpasses all reason.”
The aetheric pressure suddenly ceased.
“But then I remembered that all of you are fools, and fools do not think of the pain they might cause others with their actions. There would be no merit in even attempting reprimands.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami held up a finger but decided she was gonna just let it go, no point in bringing up past events…for the most part. “Wait… why was Starlight a dangerous situation? It was just a bunch of merriment ta me…” blinking confused.
[Eligor]
“Going to Bozja was, and you came to my house for Starlight. Putting yourself in danger without thought is a problem.”
“Come closer.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami drew closer but not before saying.“Ya. Bojza? Can’t say yer wron’ there… but if yer worried ‘bout the whole me havin’ problems teleportin’ bit I handled the one way trip back… decently well.” Now standing before him with a raised brow.
[Eligor]
He punched her in the shin, but it likely did not hurt.
“Think of the consequences of your loss more. It will be more dire if you are to rejoin the light than ever.”
“That is all I have for you. I should…get back to work I suppose.”
[R'Lamiza]
Lami flinched a bit but felt relatively no pain she'd nod abit. “Aye…I will…try to be better about that…” She'd turn to walk away before pausing and looking over her shoulder, She'd actually smile at the Lalafell.“Bit more on the light hearted note…not that ya'd care. But I quit the Bottle. So maybe I'll be keepin' meself out of the light fer just that much longer now.” Laughing abit she'd wave over her shoulder as she left the grounds.
[Eligor]
He grumbled to himself as she left, pulling a linkpearl from his pocket.
