Ancient Curiosity - 03/05/21

[Note - Tyche played by Enyo — Rex played by Blue]

[Tyche]

Whilst Tretesta slept Tyche found herself in her 'physical' form prancing throughout out the new estate. She was searching for the froggo, and trying to be sneaky but bad. She zipped in a mini orb about shifting between the miniature and orb states.

[Rex]

Rex wouldn't be terribly hard to find. He lingered near water or hot places, and was currently on the bottom floor of the new household in a small miniature pond. His eyes were closed, letting lily pads and water lilies bump up against him because he was far too heavy to float on them like a proper frog. Behind him was the potted cherry sapling that had been gifted to Blue.

His eyes remained closed even as he sensed his fellow ancient being zipping about, still as a statue.

[Tyche]

She looked around the fireplace, recalling seeing him there. She pouted, and hopped down, a bit of her blue aetheric from ripped like fire. She hopped down the stairs into the lowered level of the house, before seeing the Rex in his bathing glory. She sat on the edge dangling her feet in the water.

[Rex]

There would be nothing from the frog for a few moments. Was he asleep orrrr-

THWAP

A long flaming tongue suddenly snapped out of Rex's mouth towards a fly buzzing just to the right of Tyche. The bug never stood a chance, incinerating before the tongue even touched it.

One black eye opened up to acknowledge the sprite.

“Yes?”

[Tyche]

She clapped in pure delight, her hands made little waves of aether as the bounced together. She wished her feet in the water. “Where do you come from?”

[Rex]

“A plane of endless heat and molten pools of lava.”

He crouched down in the pond and wiggled slowly a bit at the thought, steam beginning to rise from his nostrils.

“It is quite a bore once you've been there for a millenia.”

[Tyche]

She cocked her head, “The realm that is with out limits. Do you prefer this existence even if it is limited?” She warped herself into variant creatures, appearing undecided and bored of her manifestation. “I saw the pervious as a prison.”

[Rex]

“There is more to be gained from this existence. More to learn and understand of mortals and their ways.”

Rex opened his other eye, watching as Tyche changed from creature to creature to creature.

“My plane is not a prison but one of endless waiting for those who require my aid.”

[Tyche]

Returning to the normal form before replying. “Mortals are interesting, and we have a couple that are seeing things differently now.”

[Rex]

“Perhaps, but that is the nature of their existence, to encounter things that challenge their views. Matters not if we were involved in some shape or manner.”

“My mortal has been through much without my involvement.”

[Tyche]

Tyche decided to see if she could annoy Rex by balling up into a ball of energy and cannon balling into the pound.

[Rex]

Rex was an immeasurably-ancient being. He watched Tyche and croaked as the water droplets she sprayed from her cannonball landed on his skin and began to sizzle.

“And what is your purpose here?”

[Tyche]

She poked her head up from the water. “The purpose of us talking, or why am I under this roof?”

[Rex]

Rex licked his eyeball.

“I speak of the latter. The purpose of us talking is to sate curiosity, is it not?”

[Tyche]

She sat there in the water wiggling makeshift toes out. “This would of been great on my formal body.” She looked up at the frog. “Sure beats being forgotten, trapped and bored. Honestly, I was physically bound between states of the realms. Now I'm just am, and everything, yet there is so much more to see, and all of eternity to do it.”

[Rex]

“I can understand that. Those who've passed the Trials and receive my blessing summon me to incinerate their enemies and do not call upon me again.”

“It is refreshing to simply exist and observe and be confided with. A good conversation is all I desire. And some place comfortable.”

Rex hopped onto the small brick wall containing the pond water and groomed his face with his spindly webbed toes.

[Tyche]

Tyche looked at him, “This is you in a different state? Whole, but small?”

[Rex]

Rex settled on the cool stone, perching upon it like an amphibious gargoyle.

“Yes. A small part of a greater whole.”

He gave Tyche a stoic stare.

“And you are not whole at all.”

[Tyche]

She shook her head. “I am fragmented into four bindings.” She dunked her head just a bit to blow bubbles.

“Sacrifices we decide upon in order to have something different. What may seem forever to them is just a blink of time.”

[Rex]

The frog nodded sagely and closed his eyes once more.

“Perhaps it is a blink of a second for the likes of us, but that doesn't make it any less important. I envy their passage of time.”

[Tyche]

Tyche nodded in agreement. “Eternity…. Forever is a long time.”

[Rex]

“Too long. So take advantage of these new experiences. Who knows where we both will be another millenia from now.”

After a few moments, something like snoring can be heard coming from the large frog.

[Tyche]

“Typical…” She muttered to herself, shifting into an orb and darting back to the bracelet on Tret's wrist.

[Rex]

Rex blinked one eye open slowly and chuckled to himself before settling comfortably in place once more.

Such interesting developments took place within this home. He was looking forward to experiencing it all.
